JAB Members Opinion on JEE Advance 2018 Modification

JAB members said that the logistics and evaluations procedure will get easier through the decision of online examination. This concept was discussed for many years but never turns in reality because this concept requires an adequate infrastructure to conduct the exam online. They also said that earlier candidates can guess the answer if they don’t know the right one but such opportunity will be limited after this decision. Concept-based questions will increase. The question pattern is set to change, the official explained.

The online mode and Short Answer Question Format will be applicable in JEE (Advanced) 2018. The JAB will provide information regarding the exam in due course. JEE-Mains conducted for admission to engineering courses across the country and it is also a qualifying exam for JEE-Advanced. Candidates, who willing to get admission in IIT and NIT must clear the JEE (Advanced) examination.

More than 13 lakh students participated in JEE-Mains this year and only 10% of them are eligible for online JEE (Advanced) exam. Around 2.2 lakh students have cleared the JEE-Mains.
