Indian Maritime University will introduce three new programmes from July 2017 for which the registration will start from 25 March 2017. The Indian Maritime University (IMU) is known to play a key role in the development of trained human resource for the maritime sector which also focuses on facilitating and promoting maritime studies, training, research and extension work with the focus on emerging areas of studies.
The Indian Maritime is all set to introduce three new courses and the admission related details about these courses will be soon released by the university. The three programmes introduced by the Indian Maritime University are:
- BBA (Logistic, Retailing and E - commerce).
- M.Sc (Commercial Shipping & Logistics).
- M.Tech (Marine Technology & Management).

Eligibility Criteria for admission in BBA/ M.Sc/ M.Tech in IMU
The eligibility criteria are given for all the three courses introduced by the Indian Maritime University. Therefore, the candidates are suggested to ensure their eligibility criteria before applying for any of these programmes.
Eligibility for BBA in IMU
- Age: The age of the candidates should be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years as on 17 July 2017.
- Academic Qualification: The candidates must have passed 10+2/ equivalent examination with minimum 60% marks in any stream and 50% marks in English
Eligibility for M.Sc in IMU
- Age: There is no age restriction to apply for this programme.
- Academic Qualification: The academic qualification is divided into two categories which are given below.
- Category 1: The candidates from this category required Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with the minimum of 50% marks in English Subject in Class 10/ 12/ UG Degree. The candidates must have appeared for the IMU CET and qualify.
- Category 2: 50% of seats shall be reserved for seafarers with Master (FG) Certificate of Competency or MEO Class I Certificate of Competency. There will be no CET for Category 2 candidates.
Eligibility for M.Tech in IMU
- Age: There is no age restriction to apply for this programme.
- Academic Qualification: The academic qualification required for the admission in M.Tech programme is given below.
- The candidates must have completed BE/ B.Tech in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture with at least 60% marks from a recognised University
- The candidate should be Associate Member of Institution of Engineers Part A and B in Mechanical Engineering and have secured at least 60% marks by examination.
- MEO Class I Certificate of Competency.
The candidates with prescribed GATE/ GRE scores do not require to appear in IMU CET.
