Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) is going to set up Asia's biggest centre for audio and visual training soon in Mumbai's Film City. The director General of IIMC, KG Suresh has announced this project while speaking at the Maharashtra chapter of IIMC alumni meet - IFFCO Connections 2017.
- According to the media report, the Centre for Audio and Video Training will be named National Centre for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics.
- The project will be completed within next 2 years with in association with the FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry).
- A budget of Rs 200 crore has been fixed for this project, a media report says.
While announcing the project, IIMC director general KG Suresh said that through the contribution of this centre every year total 1600 trained professionals will enter the workforce. He also said various campuses of Indian Institute of Mass Communication will now work as regional centres. Kottayam, Dhenkanal, Amravati and Aizwal will be the centres in south, east, west and north-east respectively while IIMC Jammu will be the centre of north India.
