The New Zealand government has announced fully paid scholarship for students of India. New Zealand government has started the commonwealth scholarship for the students from Commonwealth countries who wish to pursue a Master's or PhD program in New Zealand. Under the Commonwealth Scholarship, the selected students will be paid the full fee of their Master’s or PhD program fee at their University in New Zealand.
New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship 2017
Interested students have to make an online application and submit to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through its Saksham Portal. MHRD will nominate the deserving student and forward their names to the New Zealand government. After that, the New Zealand government will do the final selection for the Commonwealth scholarship program. The online application can be made until 30 March 2017.
What will the scholarship cover: The selected candidates will be provided full tuition fee, medical & travel insurance, a fortnightly living allowance, travel cost from the starting of the scholarship program to end.
Clause to come back to India: The candidates have to come back to India for two years after completion of the course and help in the development of their country.
The Commonwealth scholarship is valid for a range of subjects around the themes of Renewable Energy and Agriculture development and the scholarship also intend to help India’s social, economic and political needs through the study of the subjects. The students selected for the Commonwealth scholarship will have a chance to experience New Zealand’s education system which focuses on making the student's analytical thinker and independent so they can compete in any marketplace in the world.
Scholarship Subjects for Master's and PhD
The New Zealand government‘s Commonwealth scholarship is valid only for two subjects that are Agriculture development and Renewable energy. The topics of these both subjects can be the following:
Agriculture development: Agri-business management: agricultural economics, agricultural systems and management, rural development, logistics, supply chain and distribution management, value chain development, agriculture marketing, international agribusiness , Agriculture Production: animal science, veterinary nursing, plant science, horticultural science, soil science , Agriculture trade and technology, Phytosanitary, biosecurity, biotechnology, agricultural trade, Post-harvest: food production, food sciences/technology, post-harvest processing, food storage and packaging, food safety
Renewable energy: Geothermal, solar, hydro-electric and wind energy, energy engineering, renewable energy distribution systems, energy sector management/reform, including energy economics and financials
