The University of Delhi is focusing now on conducting the entrance examination for admission in their B.Com program and the entrance examination for the admission is likely to start from the new academic session i.e. from 2017 onwards.
Previously, Delhi University (DU) holds entrance test examination for admission in its various post-graduation (PG) & professional programs but admission to each under graduation programs are done on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in their class 12 examination.
"The university is taking all the stakeholders including college principals in confidence and consulting them. If we are successful in organising this competition for Commerce stream, one-third of the student population will be catered, to" said Manoj Khanna, convenor of Admission Committee of DU.
Mr Khanna also informed that the University of Delhi is also working upon to find the successful ways for the tie-up with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in this great project of the topmost university across the country. DU is also assessing its potential like how to strengthen the infrastructure for online admissions and preparations of entrance tests, with emphasis on evolving a "student friendly" admission system, he also added.
Current B.Com Admission Process for Delhi University
Last year, Delhi University has announced only 5 cut-off lists for admission in their undergraduate programs. After 5 cut off lists DU notified course wise & category wise vacant seats on the official website of University of Delhi. The candidates had to register themselves to apply in the colleges and the courses against vacant seats on the UG admission portal.
