What is Commonwealth Scholarship?
Commonwealth Scholarships for Masters' and Ph.D are offered under Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) which is one of the largest and most prestigious scholarship schemes for international study in the world. These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID)
Fully paid up Scholarships
Under the terms of the award, Commonwealth Scholarship are fully paid up scholarship as theu cover fees, fares, and personal maintenance.
The candidates selected receive the below mentioned benefits for 36 months in case of full-time doctoral postgraduate qualification and for 12 months in case of postgraduate qualification
BENEFITS
- Airfare from the home country to the UK and return to the home country on successful completion of the program
- Candidates are exempted to pay the tuition and examination fee
- Candidates are paid living allowance ranging between £1,034 per month and £1,268 per month as the case may be
- Grant for thesis will also be provided along with warm cloth allowance
- The candidates also receive Travel Grants/ Fieldwork Grant and Mid-Term visit. Mid Term visit is applicable only to those candidates who are pursuing Ph.D.
- If the duration of the scholarship is 18 months or more then the candidates are paid family allowance where in the spouse allowance is somewhere around £222 per month if the spouse is living in UK at the same address and Child allowance of £222 per month for the first child and £109 per month for the second child.
