Common Entrance Test 2018 to be held on 25 November 2018. As per the official website iimcat.ac.in, the detailed CAT notification 2018 will be released in the month of July or August 2018. However, the date of CAT exam 2018 can change as per the requirement of the IIMs.
This will be a computer-based exam which will be conducted in two sessions. CAT 2018 is a pre-requisite for admission to various management courses of IIMs and various other participating institutes. The registration will starts from August 2018. Candidates who have successfully applied for the test will be able to download CAT Admit Card 2018 from the month of October (tentative).
The candidates, who will qualify the test, will be eligible to get the admission to various management programs such as PGD, PGDM, PGPEM, EPGP, PGPBM, and PGPEX at various IIMs and other CAT participating colleges. There are 20 IIMs in the country presently.
The aspirants are requested to refer the CAT eligibility criteria before they start applying for the test. The minimum eligibility for CAT 2018 is that the candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks and 45% for those candidates who belong to the General category and reserved category (SC, ST, and OBC) or PWD category, respectively. The candidates who are appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply for the exam.
Last year, the CAT notification was released in the month of July and the registration was started on 9 August 2017. The exam was conducted by IIM Lucknow last year in around 140 test centres all across the country. That time, the examination fee was Rs. 1800 for general category candidates and Rs. 900 for the reserved category candidates.
