The Armed Forces Medical College will now take admissions on the basis of All India Pre Medical Test for its medical undergraduate program. This test is scheduled for May 4, 2014, however, the students will have to apply separately through the AFMC website in March-April.

AFMC decided to join National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in 2013-14, however, the Supreme Court scrapped it last year. AFMC used to conduct its separate entrance test, for undergraduate and postgraduate degree, till 2013 and then it joined NEET for the 2013-2014 admissions.

"We have now decided to join the CBSE-conducted all India entrance for admissions to the AFMC," Air Marshal D P Joshi, director general of armed forces medical services, said on Wednesday.

For the post graduate courses, students will have to sit for All India PG Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) and when they qualify, they will have to apply on the AFMC website. It is also suggested that the counselling wil also take place online.

The process of AIPMT has been completed for this year and the admit cards are supposed to be released by April and the results will be out by first week of June.
