AIIMS will conduct Open Round of MBBS Counselling for 7 AIIMS on 27 Sept 2017. Three rounds of counselling had already been conducted by the Institute and as some of the seats are still vacant, that is why AIIMS is conducting Open Round of Counselling. The open round of counselling for filling up the seats of MBBS course will be held on 27 September 2017. However, the details of vacant seat position will be available on 23 September 2017 for all 7 AIIMS centre.

The candidates who have scored minimum cut-off percentage in their category in the entrance examination will be eligible for Open Counselling. The cutoff percentage for each category is as follows:

What would be the process for AIIMS Open Round of Counselling?
The counselling process would be conducted on 27 September 2017 for General/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ OPH candidates. The counselling process would be exactly the same as what it was for Round 1, 2 and 3. The counselling process is given below:
- Firstly, the counselling for general category will be done which would be followed by OBC and SC/ST category.
- If any OBC seat remains vacant after counselling for OBC seat, all vacant seats will be transferred to General category and will be offered based on merit.
- In case of SC/ST counselling, if any SC seats remain vacant, these will be transferred to ST seat and vice versa.
- However, all the seats of SC/ST category which remained vacant after such transfers will also be transferred to General category and will be offered based on merit.
- Thus, the candidates of General category will be called again in case any OBC, SC and ST seats remain vacant after counselling for this category is over in this round and all General category candidates should need to stay back until it is announced that counselling is finally over.
Key Points regarding the AIIMS Open Round of Counselling
- AIIMS Open Round of Counselling will be conducted only for the seats remain vacant after three round of counselling
- The open round of counselling will be conducted on 27 September at 8:30 AM on the venue (J.L. Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi)
- The candidates would be considered eligible for the open round of counselling if they have scored minimum cut-off percentage in their category
- The process of an open round of counselling will remain exactly the same as what it was for Round 1, 2 and 3.
- All the candidates allotted seats must give an undertaking that they are not holding seat in any other medical college
- At the time of counselling, the candidates should bring the original certificates and one set of photocopies of all documents.
- No transfer of Institutions is allowed in Open counselling
- The candidates who are pursuing any course or have opted any seats in any AIIMs/ Elsewhere are required to bring the proof of their resignation/seat surrender letter.
