3 Indian students who represented India in International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) won 1 silver and 2 bronze medal and brought laurels to the country. Molshree won silver medal, Sorjeet and Lakshya Bhatnagar won bronze medals.
IESO is one of the 12 International Olympiad which was held for the first time in 2007 in South Korea and tests the knowledge of students in Earth Science areas. In India IESO is conducted by Geological Society of India.
Head of PCCP Program- Resonance, Mr. Nilesh Gupta informed that International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) is conducted at 3 levels. Level is a written examination and on the basis of that top 20 students are selected for next level. Level 2 is training cum selection camp and is conducted by Geological society of India. 4 out of 20 students are selected for Level 3 and these four students then represent India at the International level. This year IESO was held between September 22 and September 29, 2014 in Spain and out of the four students who represented India, 3 won medals. Lakshya Bhatnagar a bronze medal winner is a regular classroom programme student of Resonance PCCP.
Since last 3 years PCCP students have been performing very well in IESO and have won numerous medals and this is the 8th International Medal of PCCP students in last 4 years in IESO.
