About DU Journalism Entrance Exam

DU Journalism Entrance Exam 2018 for admission to the five-year integrated bachelor of journalism and master of journalism has started for the 2018-19 academic session. Delhi School of Journalism, under the University of Delhi, has started a 5 years integrated journalism program in Hindi and English for the students who want to make a career in Journalism. The interested candidates have to fill the DU Journalism Entrance Exam 2018 application form. The program has an exit option after completing 3 years. The students, who prefer to exit after 3 years, will be awarded Bachelor of Journalism (BJ). The students who complete 5 years of the integrated program will be awarded both Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) and Master of Journalism (MJ). Total 60 intakes are offered in English Journalism and 60 in Hindi Journalism as well. Choosing the language: The integrated Journalism course will give 50% credit weightage to classroom lectures and another 50% to assignments, projects, and internships. In 5 year’s integrated Journalism program, the students will be taught one of four foreign languages - French, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic and four regional languages (Tamil, Bengali, Sanskrit and Urdu). The candidate has to opt for 1 foreign and 1 regional language.

DU Journalism Entrance Exam Eligibility criteria

  • The candidates who are passed in class 12 exams or equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks from any recognized schools with minimum required marks are eligible to apply for appearing in national level DU Journalism Entrance Exam 2018
  • There will be an entrance test for the admission of the students, the test will examine the candidate's proficiency in general knowledge, current affairs, and analytical and comprehension skills. The candidate needs to score well in an entrance test to be eligible for the admission.

The candidates want to appear in the DU Journalism Entrance Exam 2018 for admission to the five-year integrated Journalism program, have to fill an online application form. The online application process has been started and the last date to submit the online application form is 7 June 2018.

Steps to fill the DU Online Admission form for journalism course

  • Registration: first, the candidates have to register themselves online on the official website of DU. The candidates have to enter their email, mobile number, and basic personal details and have to create a password. After successful submission of registration, the candidates will be sent a verification email, the candidates have to follow the instruction therein and complete the registration.
  • Uploading and personal profile: The candidates have to enter the same personal details entered during the registration process and the postal address. Thereafter, the candidates have to upload the mandatory documents as per the instruction is given there. The candidates have to upload photograph, signature, any photo ID proof, date of birth certificate and caste certificate (if applicable).
  • Filling the application form: To fill the application form, the candidates have to log in using personal email id and password. Now the candidates have to fill the application form by entering their personal information, educational qualification details, selection of course and choosing the exam centre. Thereafter, the candidates have to click “Final Preview” to view the submitted application form.
  • Making payment of the application fee: After successful submission of the application form, the candidates have to make payment of the application fee. The candidates can make payment using online mode of making the payment such as debit card, credit card or net banking.

Application Submission

The candidates, who wish to appear in the All India Journalism Entrance Test, can fill and submit the application form online. After successful making payment of the application form, the candidates should take a print out of the submitted application form; the candidates have not to send any hard copy of the form via post.

The candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of their performance in national level DU Journalism Entrance Exam 2018 which is scheduled to be held in July 2018. Based on performances of the candidates in DU Journalism Entrance Exam 2018, DU will release a list of finally selected candidates 

Documents to be submitted at the time of DU Admission 2018

The selected candidates have to verify the document and take admission. The following list of documents required at the time of admission:

  • Class 10 Board Examination Certificate
  • Class 10 Mark-Sheet
  • Class 12 Mark-Sheet
  • Class 12 Provisional Certificate / Original Certificate
  • Recent Character Certificate
  • SC/ST/PwD/CW certificate issued by the competent authority
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate from school/college as well as Migration Certificate
  • from Board / University are required from those students who have passed a senior secondary exam from outside Delhi
  • At least two passport size self-attested photographs
  • In a case of seats are found vacant at the end of bachelors component of the Integrated Journalism course, the University of Delhi will conduct an entrance test for the PG component.
