Thapar University International Engineering Programme – The Thapar University invites the admission for the international engineering programme to the candidates. Basically, it is a credit transfer programme between Thapar University and Trinity College Dublin (TCD). The academic agreement between the Thapar University and Trinity College Dublin offer the opportunity to the candidates to admit them in undergraduate engineering programmes at Thapar University. Thapar University IEP Dates 2018

Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens possessing a good moral character.

Age: candidates must have born on or after 1 October 1992 (5 years relaxation in age for SC/ ST/ PH candidates).

Academic Requirements

• Candidates must have passed their class 12 or equivalent examination with minimum aggregate of 60% Marks (55% for SC/ST/PH) in three subjects i.e. Physics Mathematics and any one from Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject. OR Minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks in a Diploma recognised by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3-year duration.
• Along with any one of the given two statements the candidates should also have minimum 20% Marks (15% for SC/ST) in their JEE Main Exam. 

OR

• Candidates must have passed their class 12 or equivalent examination with minimum aggregate of 80% Marks (75% for SC/ST/PH) in three subjects i.e. Physics Mathematics and any one from Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject. 
• Along with this, the candidates should also have minimum 25% Marks (10% for SC/ST) in their JEE Main Exam.

The candidates should know that there is a common application form for every programme offered by the Thapar University. However, the candidates who are interested in pursuing the International Engineering Programme need to select the "Yes" option as shown in the image below. The image given below is only for the illustrative purpose.

Steps to fill the Thapar University IEP Application Form

• STEP 1: Click on ‘Apply Online’ link Available on the Home page of Thapar University’s Official Website.
• STEP 2: Click on the Name of the program you are applying for to get ‘Apply Now’ tab. Click on the tab and register by filling in the required details. Candidate will get a unique 'username' and 'password' for future use.
• STEP 3: Login with the 'username' and 'password'. Fill the online Application form with all the required details such as Personal and Academic Details, choose the preferences of the programs, upload your recent photograph & signature, and click on  “SUBMIT”.
• STEP 4: The candidates filling the form for the admission in the International Engineering Programme should select the option Yes as explained above with the help of an image.
• STEP 5: Pay the Application fee either through Payment Gateway (Online Mode) or Demand Draft (Offline Mode).
  • Candidates who have paid the application fee through online mode will get immediate confirmation on their email.
  • Those who have paid the application fee by Offline mode will have to send a printout of application form along with Bank DD to get the confirmation email.

Submission of the Application Form

• If the Application Fee has been paid through Payment Gateway (Online): Candidates are not required to send the printout of application form. However, they will have to bring a printout of application form at the time of document checking of original documents during counselling.
• If the Application Fee has been paid through Demand Draft (Offline): Candidates have to send one of the printouts of filled Application Form along with DD through Registered Post/Courier/Speed Post or by hand to the following address:

Candidates should retain the 1 copy of the form printout as it has to be produced at the time of original document checking during counselling. Candidate must note that incomplete application form or the form that reach Thapar University after the due date/ time will be rejected.

The annual tuition fee and the hostel fee which the candidates pursuing the Thapar University International Engineering Programme have to pay is given below. The fees for the Indian candidates and the Foreign/ NRI candidates are different. The candidates are suggested to go through the table given below.

The IEP candidates appearing in the 2nd round of IEP counselling will have to pay Rs 2,34,850 (including one-time admission charge) in DD or cash form.

• The admission to the Thapar University International Engineering Programme is based on the performance in the JEE (Main) examination and securing at least 60% marks in the 10+2 examination or equivalent.
• The candidates will begin the first 2 years at Thapar University and then the rest of the years i.e. 3 and 4 of the degree programme will be done Trinity College, subject to meeting the required academic requirements

Thapar IEP Counselling

The counselling process for BE/BTech of Thapar IEP will start in May 2018. Candidates must bring the required documents at the time of counselling. These required documents are very important for the admission. Candidates must bring the following original certificates and a set of attested photocopies of all the certificates with them.

Maximum 70 candidates are allowed to take admission in the International Engineering Programme. These students will study first 2 years of the course at Thapar University and the remaining 2 years at Trinity College Dublin. The candidates who meet the academic entry requirements will be eligible for 15% discount on their tuition fee for the program will be able to apply for a Trinity-Thapar scholarship award which would reduce their Trinity tuition fee.
