About CMAT 2018

CMAT - (Common Management Admission Test)is a National Level Management Admission Test which is administrated by the AICTE for the graduate students for admissions to the MBA colleges under CMAT. Common Management Admission Test by AICTE will be held on 21 January 2018, across multiple cities in India. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions / University Departments/ Constituent Colleges / Affiliated Colleges. The application process for Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) has now started from 20 October 2017 and will end on 25 December 2017. Previously the CMAT was conducted two times in a year but as per the latest announcements of the MHRD.

CMAT 2018 Eligibility criteria

Nationality: Only the candidates who are the citizen of India are eligible for the CMAT 2018.

Educational Qualification:  

  • Applicant must have passed out from the 10+2+3/4 education system and should have a valid graduation degree of minimum 3 years in any discipline with 50% aggregate marks (45% in case of reserved categories).
  • Students who have completed their graduation through part-time or distance learning institutions recognised by the MHRD are also eligible to apply.

Undergraduates:  Undergraduate from any discipline who are in their final year of the graduation can apply for the CMAT Test condition being their graduation result must be declared before the commencement of the admissions.

PwD Candidates:  PwD candidates with less than 40% disability, Visually Impaired, Hearing Impairment and dumb are eligible to take CMAT 2018.

CMAT 2018 Application form and Admit Card

CMAT Registration for 2018 is a totally online process. Hence, the candidates willing to appear in CMAT need to fill the application form through online mode only. Prerequisite before filling CMAT Application Form

  • Good Quality Internet facility
  • Class 10,12 and graduation  qualification details
  • Scanned passport size photograph on white background of size 140x160 ≤ 60Kb
  • Scanned signature on white background of size 60x90 ≤ 30Kb
  • Valid working Email ID  for future communications
  • Valid working mobile number on which OTP will be sent
  • Debit/Credit Card for online payments.

Payment of AICTE CMAT Application Fee

The candidates applying for the CMAT Exam have to pay the application fee of Rs 1400/ Rs 700 +taxes in any of the two modes given below:

  • ONLINE Payment mode: Applicants can pay the application fee of the application form using  the given below methods:
    • Debit Card
    • Credit Card
    • Net Banking
  • Cash Payment through SBI Challan:  Applicants paying through the SBI challan method have to generate the SBI challan slip before the form filling up and have to pay cash amount of application fee at the nearest SBI branch on producing of the Challan slip.Remember to carry 3 challan copies at the time of cash payment with required details filled in.

Submission of the CMAT Application form

CMAT Application process is completely ONLINE, the candidate has to submit the application form online only. Before submitting the application, the candidates are suggested to check the information filled in the application form are correct. However, if the candidate wants, he/she can take a printout of the duly filled application form for future reference.

CMAT Admit Card 2018

 CMAT Admit Card 2018 will be issued to the applicants only after the successful payment of the application fee. The candidates can download the CMAT Admit card from 5 January 2018 by following the link given below. After downloading the admit card, the candidates must check the certain things such as the name of the candidates, roll number, exam centre and date etc.

CMAT 2018 Fees

The application fee for the CMAT 2018 is different as per the category. The candidates have to make the payment of the application fee as per the category. The category wise application fee is given in the table below. The candidates can make the payment of the fee through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.

CMAT 2018 Result and Counselling

CMAT Result for the CMAT exam is declared on 15 February 2018. The applicants can log in the CMAT Portal using their user ID and Password to check their ranks and scores in total and section wise. 

The candidates should know that the CMAT Result 2018 is available online only. AICTE will not send any score card or individual result to any candidate. To get the CMAT Result, the candidates are suggested to follow the link below.

CMAT 2018 Exam pattern

  • Duration of Exam: 3 Hours/ 180 Minutes
  • Total number of Questions: 100
  • No of sections in CMAT: 4
  • No of question in each section: 25
  • Maximum marks: 400

There will be 4 sections in the CMAT exam and each of the section will have 25 questions of 4 marks each. CMAT Exam will have a negative marking scheme, for each of the wrongly answered question applicants will get 1 marks deducted from the total.

  • Marks awarded for each question: 4 Marks
  • Marks awarded for unanswered question: 0 Marks
  • Marks for incorrect answer: -1 Marks

CMAT Syllabus 2018

There is no defined syllabus for CMAT issued by the conducting body, AICTE. The candidates can go through the mock test which will be available from December 2017 on the official website of CMAT.

For better result in CMAT, the candidates are advised to cover all the basic topics of the subjects that are logical reasoning, general awareness, language comprehension and quantitative techniques & data interpretation. 25 questions will be asked from each of the subjects. 

CMAT Mock Test 2018

  • The CMAT trial mock test is available from 26 October 2017 and the candidates are able to practice for the better preparation of the CMAT through this test.
  • The mock test will help the candidates to have a feel of the online test and its navigation functionality. All the CMAT aspirants are advised to go through the trial mock test carefully to be familiar with the screens, layout and navigation. 
  • Actual CMAT duration is 180 minutes but the CMAT trial (Mock) test duration is total 10 minutes. The candidates will have to answer total 18 question in 10 minutes and each question has 3 marks.
  • After answering all the question, the candidates have to click on submit button. thereafter, the server will automatically show the result of the trial test.

CMAT 2018 Important details

CMAT test will be conducted in 62 cities across India, The number of test centres varies according to the number of students who have applied for the CMAT Test. Applicants have to reach 1:30 Hour before the CMAT test commences.
