About ACPC Counselling for B.Tech 2018

ACPC Final Merit 2018, has been released for B.E/B.Tech courses. Candidates can get details related to the list by clicking on the ACPC Merit list link. The counselling for B.E/B.Tech admission will be conducted by ACPC Gujarat for the academic year 2018-19. The Admission to B.E/ B.Tech courses to Government and Management Quota seats in colleges of Gujrat will be done on the basis ACPC Counselling 2018. Candidates appearing in ACPC Counselling for B.Tech 2018 must appear in the JEE Mains Exams since the seats will be allocated on the basis of JEE Main's Rank. This page has the details regarding ACPC BTech counselling dates, eligibility criteria, the application process, selection process etc.

  • Government Seats: All the government seats shall be filled on the basis of merit list prepared by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) in the Government colleges and aided colleges or Institutions of the State.

ACPC Counselling for B.Tech 2018 Eligibility criteria

For B.Tech admission through ACPC counselling, the candidate shall have passed the Qualifying exam with the minimum eligibility criteria of the percentage of marks in subjects prescribed by AICTE. The Gujarat Board /CBSE /ICSE /NIOS/International School Board Provided that,

Academic Qualification: The Gujarat Board /CBSE /ICSE /NIOS/International School Board Provided that:

  • The candidate must have passed the qualifying exam from the Gujarat Board /CBSE /ICSE /NIOS/International School Board Provided that :
  • The school in which the candidate has studied shall have been located in the State of Gujarat
  • OR
  • The school in which the candidate has studied shall have located in the Union Territories of Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli and whose parents are of Gujarat origin
  • Must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/Bio-Technology or Technical Vocational as one of the Subject in the qualifying examination.
    • The candidate must have secured a minimum of 45 % marks for Open (40% for SC/ST/SEBC) in Class 12. 

ACPC Counselling for B.Tech 2018 Application form and Admit Card

ACPC Counselling Registration can only be made Online. The first and foremost thing before the registration process is that the candidate needs to obtain the Information booklet and PIN from any of the designated branch bank. The candidate must carefully read all the information given in the information brochure before starting the online registration. All the eligible candidates who have passed HSC Examination from Science Stream from Gujarat State can log in to the official of ACPC and apply through Online mode only. Here are the steps to register for ACPC:

  • Registration: To register as a new candidate the candidate must click on the new registration button and a new registration window will be displayed on the screen.
  • Selecting Course: The candidate has to choose course name by selecting the option of choice for “Degree Engineering” discipline.
    • After that, the candidates must enter the JEE Main 2018 Roll Number and Application number as per the JEE Main 2018 mark sheet, 14 digit PIN as given in the booklet, Serial Number provided with PIN, name as per the JEE Main mark sheet and other details in the appropriate box. The candidate must verify all the details entered and click on submit button.
  • Personal Details: The candidate has to fill up the personal details in the Online Registration form. The JEE Main Roll number of the candidate will appear as Login Id which is a mandate to use. After that, the candidate must enter an at least 6 and maximum 12 digit alphanumeric characters. The candidate must keep the user id and password safely for future use.
  • Confirm and print details: After filling all the registration details in the online registration form the candidate needs to press the Confirm registration details button and take a printout of the registration form.

Submission of ACPC Application Form 2018

Outside Gujrat Candidates: The candidates, who have passed HSC (Science Stream) examination from outside Gujarat and appeared in JEE Main 2018 are required to submit their Registration Details with relevant documents at the following address:

Gujrat Candidates: After filling in all the details in Online Registration page take two copies print out of the registration form. The candidate of Gujarat must reach their nearby help centres along with the Registration Details and necessary self-attested copies of the documents. Both the candidates as well as their parent/guardian of the candidates has to compulsory sign the registration details at the space provided.

Documents required for ACPC Counselling Application Submission

The required necessary self-attested copies of the documents to be attached along with the hard copy of the Registration Form at the Help Centres are as follows:

  • S.S.C Examination Class 10 Mark sheet
  • H.S.C Examination class 12 mark sheet
  • JEE Main Mark sheet
  • School Leaving Certificate or Transfer Certificate
  • Caste certificate for a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Socially and Educationally Backwards Classes (SEBC), issued by the authority empowered by the State Government in this behalf
  • Category certificate for a candidate belonging to Unreserved Economically Weaker Sections (UEWS), issued by the authority empowered by the State Government in this behalf,
  • NonCreamy Layer (NCL) certificate of the family, issued after 1st April of the relevant academic year, by the authority empowered by the State Government in this behalf
  • Certificate of Physical Disability issued and duly signed by the Civil Surgeon/ competent Medical Authority, in case the candidate is a Physically Handicapped
  • Certificate of Ex-Serviceman, duly issued by the Director, Sainik Welfare Board, Gujarat State or by the District Sainik Welfare Officer
  • A copy of the certificate of In-Serviceman duly issued by the Commanding Officer of the respective unit in which he is serving
  • A copy of the certificate of income issued by the authority empowered by the State Government in this behalf, if applicable
  • Photograph of the candidate for other State / other than Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary School Examination Board.

Online Choice Filling for ACPC BTech Counselling 2018 

  • Login: In order to fill up the choices of courses and Institutes the candidates have to log in on the website of ACPC that is www.gujacpc.in by using the login ID and password within the time limit as prescribed by ACPC. After Login, the candidates can see all the available choices according to their eligibility criteria. There will be many choices available and the candidates can sort their choices according to Institute name and/or course name, district wise etc.
  • Single Choice: The candidate can fill single choice at a time.
  • Choice filling: For filling up single choice, by clicking on ADD button in the first grid, one single choice at one time and the choice will be displayed in the second grid after the previously selected choices.
  • Move Choice function: In the Move Choice function, the candidate by entering the current choice number in the box and the choice number to which it is to be shifted in the box can get the current choice number.
  • Swap Choice Function: Using Swap Choice Function, the candidate can interchange any two choice priorities.
  • Save and Edit: The candidate has to click on save choices button for saving the filled choices at regular interval. After filling the choice the candidate has to click on save and edit button then a window will open.
  • Modify choices: If the candidates want to modify choices, they should click on modify choices button then they will be redirected to the choice submission page.
  • Lock Final Choices: The candidate has to lock their final choices within the stipulated time limit. On clicking the lock choices button a message of entering 14 digit PIN will be displayed. After entering the PIN, the choice of the candidate will be locked.
  • Unlock Choices: If the candidate wants to modify the locked choices, they may do so by clicking on Unlock Choices button. By entering their 14 digit PIN they can unlock the filled choices they must repeat the same procedure of locking of choices mentioned earlier.

ACPC Counselling for B.Tech 2018 Result and Counselling

ACPC Counselling for the BTech will be carried on the basis of the merit list prepared by the conducting body. ACPC BTech Merit List 2018 of the candidates who have applied for admission in the manner prescribed by the Admission Committee within the prescribed time limit and only the eligible candidate's list will be prepared in the following manner:

  • The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any of the Boards mentioned in the eligibility criteria with an aggregate of 60% weightage of the percentile marks obtained in the theory paper that is Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 40% weightage of the percentile marks obtained in JEE Main shall be the merit marks.
  • If the percentile marks are not available from any of the Boards mentioned in the eligibility criteria, then to separate merit list will be prepared in the following ways:
    • The first merit list shall include the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from the Boards, and the list will be prepared according to the 60% weightage of the percentile marks obtained in the theory paper that is Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 40% weightage of the percentile marks obtained in JEE Main.
    • The second Merit list shall include the candidate who has passed the Qualifying Examination from the Boards for which the percentile marks are not available. This shall be based on 60% weightage of marks obtained in the theory of the subjects that is Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics after converting it to 100 combined with the forty percentage weightage of the percentile marks obtained in the JEE Main.

Correction of marks: If the candidate has to change the provided marks of Qualifying Examination he/she will have to produce a letter issued by the competent authority or the corrected mark sheet issued by the Board, before the Admission Committee at least one day before the commencement of admission process.

Allotment of Seats in ACPC Counselling 2018

ACPC Counselling First Phase: After the candidate completes their choice filling procedures, the ACPC will start the Round 1 Allotment. The candidates can view their allotment for the Degree Engineering by Login in their module. The candidates can take the printout of Information Letter and Bank Challan for the confirmation of the admission.

  • After the declaration of the results of allotment of seats, if the candidate gets any seat, they can get Information Letter along with Bank Fee Challans showing requisite tuition fees to be paid.
  • The candidate who has been allotted a seat have to take two print out of the Information Letter of the seat.

ACPC Counselling Second Phase: After the allotment of seats in the first allotment of seats and online confirmation of admission by candidates.  ACPC will declare the list of “Vacant Seats” on its website.

ACPC Participating Colleges for BTech

Admission Procedure for B.Tech

The candidates who will be allotted seats have to pay the requisite amount of the tuition fee by cash at any of the designated branch of Dena Bank or through Online payment within the time limit specified by the Admission Committee (mentioned in the table given above).

  • After the payment, the admission allotted to the candidate get automatically confirmed. The candidate has to print the Admission Detail.
  • Those candidates whose Payment Slip generated with zero fees need not go to the bank. They have to confirm their admission online by using their user ID and password.
    • For confirmation of their admission such candidates have to click on Result then Information Letter, then a message will be displayed. To confirm their admission, click on Accept button.
      • Those candidates who click on Decline button, their allotted admission will not be confirmed, and such candidates shall not be eligible to claim the particular seat allotted to them in the subsequent phases of admission if any.
    • Those candidates who accept the admission can get the print of “Admission Slip” after entering into their login ID.
  • Now, if the admitted candidate is NOT willing to participate in the next round ACPC Counselling to upgrade his admission, he/she has to immediately report to the allotted Institute for enrolment with “Information Letter”, “Admission Slip” Bank Challan / Online Fee Receipt and photocopies of all documents.

Management Quota Seats filling in ACPC Counselling

  • Each institute will nominate one Nodal Officer from their institute for granting admission on Management Seats. The student can contact the Nodal Officer in regarding any admission related complaint.
  • Admission process will begin from the first week of June 2018 and will be completed in the same month. The list of admitted students will be uploaded on PI (Participant Institute) module of NIC web portal in 1st week of July 2018, without fail.
  • The institute will prepare merit list (inter-se) from the applications of eligible students who occupy merit number of Admission Committee, display it on the institute’s notice board as well as on the website.
  • All the students included in the merit list will be communicated individually by speed post or registered post for counselling.
  • Self-financed institutions admit a maximum of 5% seats of outside Gujrat candidates out of sanctioned intake from 25% management seats.

NRI Seat filling in ACPC Counselling

The students who have passed qualifying examination from outside India would be exempted from JEE Main 2018 examination and based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination they would be included in the merit list.

  • Such candidates must have to fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed by the State Government for admission. However, if the students have passed the qualifying examination from India, they must have appeared JEE Main 2018 examination, then only he/she will be considered eligible for admission. 
  • The students who have passed qualifying examination from outside India shall have to obtain equivalency certificate from Association of Indian Universities, Delhi.
  • An NRI student who seeks admission on NRI the seat will also have to submit a copy of his/her passport as well as a passport of his/her mother and/or father, to prove himself/herself as an NRI candidate.
  • NRI sponsored students have to submit proof of his/her sponsor, a copy of Sponsor Passport (which contains the signature of sponsor), as well as the affidavit, has to be submitted. The relation of NRI (sponsored) with the student (NRI sponsored candidate), sponsors undertaking the responsibility for payment of tuition and other fees as well as the entire responsibility of the candidate’s study should have been clearly mentioned in the affidavit.
  • NRI sponsored students will be included in the merit list of NRI seats as well as in the merit list of Management Seats.
ACPC Counselling for B.Tech 2018 Important details

For the purpose of admission, the seats shall be reserved for the candidates who are of Gujarat origin and falling under the following categories and in the following proportion as follows:

Government Seats: 
All the government seats shall be filled on the basis of merit list prepared by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) in the Government colleges and aided colleges or Institutions of the State.

  • 75% of the total sanctioned seats of the engineering and Technology courses in the Unaided Colleges or Institution.
  • All supernumerary seats of the professional courses in the Government colleges or Institutions and in the Aided and Unaided Colleges or Institutions.

Management Quota Seats: All the Management quota seats will be filled by the management of the respective professional Educational College or Institution on the basis of inter-se merit list of the candidates.

  • Twenty-five percent seats of the total sanctioned seats of the Engineering and Technology courses in the unaided colleges or institutions, including fifteen percent Non-Resident Indian seats.
  • The unaided college or institution shall fill up the Management Seats up to 5 % of the sanctioned intake from the students of the out of the State, on the basis of JEE-Main Examination irrespective of whether the candidate has applied for admission to the Admission Committee or not, subject to the conditions that the student fulfill the eligibility criteria for admission prescribed under these rules and has passed the qualifying examination from recognized Boards.
