About BA Mass Communication

BA Mass Communication is a full-time programme which is spread over a period of three years and spaced out over six semesters of six months each.

The Course incorporates theoretical lectures, hands-on practical sessions, tutorials, classroom presentations, take-home assignments, sporting & cultural events, field trips, study tours, projects, and internships.

Academic Qualification

• Candidate must have passed their Class 12 in any discipline from any recognised Board / Council / University with a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) aggregate marks, or equivalent grades
• Candidates appearing for Class 12 may also appear.
• Candidates who have passed Class 12 through Open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for the Course.
• Candidates who have appeared for their Class 12 finals and awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing certificate by the notified date.

Qualifying Exam: The admission of the candidates in SCMC BA Mass Communication will be done on the basis of Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET).

Symbiosis Centre for Media & Communication (SCMC), Pune is done on the basis of SET. SET 2018 Application Process has now started. Candidates can register for SET examination on Official Website by paying an online fee. The last date of registration for SET examination is 9 April 2018. 

SET 2018 Application form can be filled online only for various undergraduate courses and candidates are required to fill the common Application Form. However, for admission in some of the undergraduate courses, the Symbiosis Entrance Test is not applicable. SET Admit Card 2018

SET Admit Card 2018 was available for download from 21 April 2018. SET Admit Card was available on the official website only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date. Candidates need to know that no admit card will not be dispatched through the post to the candidates, so no correspondence in this regard will be considered.

Candidates must bring the admit card and a photo identity proof to the test centre. It will be authenticated during the Test. Candidates shall preserve the authenticated admit card till the admission processes of the desired Symbiosis institutes are over. If the admit card is lost, no duplicate admit card will be issued.

SET Result 2018 and SET 2018 Score Card has been declared on 14 May 2018. SET Result 2018 is  declared by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for the entrance exam to be conducted on 5 May 2018, for all the courses on All India basis. SET 2018 was conducted in online mode across many states in India. 

After checking the result, it is also mandatory for the candidates to fill the online registration for the individual Institutes for the desired programme before the closing date of application of the respective Institute. SCMC Selection Process

Once the result gets declared, the shortlisted candidates will be called for PI-WAT which was conducted from 21 May to 29 May 2018. The selection of the candidates for Symbiosis Centre for Media & Communication (SCMC), Pune for BA Mass Communication Programme will be done on the basis of SET score.

The shortlisted candidates will be further selected for PI-WAT. The selection process for SCMC BA Mass Communication programme is given below:
