Thapar University Patiala Admission 2017-18 Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant should be the citizen of India.
• The applicant should bear a good moral character.
• The applicant must have been a student of B.E./BTech programme from a famous Institute/ University.
• The applicant must have passed Class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination from a recognized board.

Educational Qualification

• The applicant should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biology /Biotechnology and should have secured 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) marks in Class 12.
• The applicant must have cleared TU entrance test with at least 20% aggregate marks (15% for SC/ ST candidates).

OR

• The applicant should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Biology /Biotechnology and should have secured 80% (75% for SC/ST candidates) marks in Class 12.
• The applicant must have cleared TU entrance test with at least 15% aggregate marks (10% for SC/ ST candidates).

The application process has been started from 16 October 2017. The candidates willing to get admission in BE/ BTech or PhD course need to fill up the application form through online mode. The application form for admission to first-year 2nd semester can only be submitted through online mode.

Payment of the Thapar University Patiala 2017-18 Application Fee

The candidates need to make the payment of the application fee of Rs.1,500 (non-refundable). The application fee for the Thapar University can be paid through the following mode:

• Online Mode: The first mode of making the payment of the application fee is through online mode which can be paid through Credit Card/ Debit Card or Net Banking
• Demand Draft: The another mode of making the payment is through Demand Draft. The candidates can make the payment through Demand Draft which would be paid in favour of Thapar University payable at Patiala

Thapar University Patiala Admission 2017-18 - Selection Procedure

The admissions in Thapar University are solely done on the basis of the marks secured in the entrance test conducted by Thapar University. The result gets prepared based on secured marks and thus the shortlisted candidates will be called for the counselling process. There will be only one counselling. The Venue for Counseling is Auditorium of Thapar University, Patiala. At the time of counselling, the applicant is required to carry all the documents in original. 

In a case, the student of the first year of Thapar University gets a seat under this scheme then the seat vacated by such candidate shall be offered to the other candidates in the merit list. The candidates who will get admission under International Engineering Program will be shifted to Trinity College Dublin after the completion of their 4th semester at Thapar University.

The exam pattern for the Thapar University Patiala Admission 2017-18 is given on this page. The candidates can go through the exam pattern given below.

• The question paper will contain 150 multiple choice questions carrying 1 mark each.
• The candidates are also given the choice to choose two sections from S.No 5 to 7 and another two sections from S.No 8 to 10. ( as given below)
• Negative Marking: For every wrong answer 1/4 mark shall be deducted.
• Duration: The Entrance Exam will be of 3 hours duration.
