About Write India | Tell Your Story

  • Write India has been announced by Times of India- a platform where 11 budding writers will be given a golden chance to get a book published in their nameunder the guidance and mentorship of India’s leading authors. There are 11 Writers! 11 Stories! 11 Winners!
  • The Times of India has announced the launch of ‘Write India’ under the aegis of Times LitFest-Delhi, the people's festival to promote writing talent in India and discover the next generation of writers.

  • The Author of the Month: Ravinder Singh
  • Ravinder Singh is the bestselling author of 'I Too Had a Love Story', 'Can Love Happen Twice?', 'Like It Happened Yesterday' and 'Your Dreams Are Mine Now.' He has edited and compiled two crowd-sourced anthologies named 'Love Stories That Touched My Heart' and 'Tell Me A Story.'

  • The contest starts January 7, 2016 and ends on January 30, 2016

  • It is a first short story contest of its kind. Not only the best writers will be awarded but also, they will be mentored, their stories will get published under the aegis of the author whose contest they win.
  • The Contest would run for 11 months and each month the contest would open on 7th and end on 30th of the month.
    • First round for Write India under the leading author Amish is opened for write-ups on July 7, 2015 and the contest ends on July 30, 2015.
    • The Eminent Author of the Month shares a passage to the story, explains the context and sets the rules for completing the story. The writer has to follow everything and send the entry before the deadline.
  • The Write India panel consists of 11 eminent authors from the country's bestselling lists

Write India Reward

  • For 11 months, every month a 'Winner of the Month' will be awarded a Kindle.
  • The WINNERS will attend a unique Writers Camp in Diu and be mentored by authors from the distinguished panel of Times of India Group
  • The winning entries will also get published in the form of a book by Times Group Books, with a chapter each for the 11 winners selected by the Authors.

Write India | Tell Your Story Selection Process

Write India Selection Procedure

  • Top Three Stories of the month will be selected by the panel of judges.
  • The selected will then be guided by the MENTOR and will also select One Short Story as the Winning One.
  • The selected budding writers will take part in a workshop with their mentors to further hone their writing skills.
  • The 11 short stories written as part of Write India will finally culminate into a book, published by The Times of India Group.
