Speak for India 2018 - Inter Collegiate Debate Contest

Speak for India 2018 is an Inter-Collegiate Debate Contest presented by Federal Bank in association with The Times of India Group. The main objective of this Inter-Collegiate Debate Contest is to encourage young and enthusiastic minds across the nation to raise the question and give their opinion on relevant issues and make changes in the society. The Speak for India contest offers a podium to the college students to explore their awareness, insights, and perspective on contemporary topics.

This Inter-Collegiate Debate Contest will be open for only those students who are studying in colleges located at Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Speak for India 2018 is an individual debate competition and candidates have to fill the online application form only. There is No Application Fee for participating in Speak for India 2018.

• This competition will be done on four levels i.e. District level, Zonal level, Semi-final, and Finals.
• Candidates who are going to participate in this debate can choose their preferred language between English and Kannada for Karnataka Edition and English, Hindi, and Marathi for Maharashtra Edition, English and Tamil for Tamil Nadu Edition respectively.

Speak for India 2018 - Inter-Collegiate Debate Contest has interesting prizes for the winners. The cash rewards will be given to all the winners in district level and zonal level as well as the participants in the semi-final and grand finale.

Apart from these, consolation cash reward will be given to all the other finalist with the special reward for a Popular Choice candidate. The rewards which will be given to the participants are yet to be announced and will be updated as soon they are released in the table given below:

Candidates who are willing to participate in Speak For India must fill the online application form which is totally free. Candidates are also required to submit a “Letter of Consent” from the College Principal and the true copies of supporting documents to justify the credentials furnished during the online registration.
This contest is open to all the students studying in any of the colleges located in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Submission of the Application Form

The application form of Speak for India contest has to be submitted through online mode. Candidates are liable for disqualification if the details submitted in the application form are found to be untrue or false.

Documents to be brought at the venue of Speak for India Contest 2018 

The candidates selected to participate in the Speak for India - Inter-Collegiate Debate Contest need to carry a valid college ID proof with them.

The winner will be selected by the judging panel on the basis of style, clarity, and conviction of thought and lucidity of articulation. Selected candidates will get a confirmation mail from mail@speakforindia.com with all relevant details about the competition. Once the result declared by the organizers at each level will be final and no further queries, complaints or disputes will be entertained. The stages of the selection are given below:

Speak for India 2018 Selection Process

• District Level: Students will compete in their respective district. The selection for district-level screening and elimination rounds is based on the candidate’s credentials and previous experiences as submitted by the candidate during the online registration. 
• Zonal Level: Selected students from various districts will be called on to one of the three zone and they have to compete against the best-selected candidates.
• Semi-Finals: The candidates who qualify the zonal level will become part fo semi-finals and he/ she will then get an opportunity to compete with state-level competitors.
• Grand Finale: At last, the final eight candidates will be chosen and will be trained by the expert. These selected candidates will then compete against each other in the presence of a large audience to win the trophy of Speak for India 2018.
