About NatureaTMs Best Photography Asia Awards

Nature’s Best Photography Asia Awards invites all photographers from 50 countries of Asia to enter the second annual awards. Any photographer, amateur or professional residing anywhere in Asia are eligible to participate in the photography contest. The winners will be invited to the annual Awards Ceremony at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington, USA. The last date to enter Nature's Best Photography Asia Award is 31 March 2018. Each entrant may enter with a total of 20 images.

The nature photograph must be from any of the five categories listed below taken in Asia:

  • Wildlife
  • Small World
  • Oceans
  • Landscape
  • Birds

The entrants must belong from the following 50 Asian Countries:

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, China, Georgia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, South, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, East Timor, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen.

NatureaTMs Best Photography Asia Awards Reward

  • Grand Prize: One Winner from each of the category will receive an amount of 1000 US Dollars and a plaque.
  • Runners Up: 5 Runners Up will be awarded 500 US Dollar, award plague.
  • Five highly honored from each category will receive a plague award.
  • Lumix Award: Lumix Camera
  • Nature’s Best Photography Asia Category winning photographs will be displayed in the annual Awards Exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. They will also be displayed in exhibitions throughout Asia.

NatureaTMs Best Photography Asia Awards Application form and Process

The entry can only be made Online.Each entrant can submit up to 20 images. The entry fee for each entry is 25 US dollars and one may start as many entry pages as they like for 25 US dollars each. The last date to entering is 31 March 2018.

Categories for Participation

  • Wildlife: Wild animals photographed within their natural habitat anywhere in Asia.
  • Landscapes: Dramatic scenes and unusual perspectives of Asia’s wild places providing expansive views, as well as images of plant life such as flowers, trees, and other flora in their natural habitat. Entrants must give a reference in their caption if their image was taken in a designated Wilderness Area.
  • Ocean: The world of the sea photographed above, below, and around the ocean’s surface: tide pools, coral reefs, marine life, waves, landscapes, seascapes, and creatures who depend on the ocean for survival. All shots must be from waters that border Asia.
  • Birds: Wild birds in their native habitats displaying plumage, mating rituals, territorial battles, nesting, feeding, parenting, or other behaviors, adults with young and portraits.
  • Small world: Close-up images of plants, animals, and miniature landscapes taken with micro/macro lenses.
  • Video: The editors at Nature’s Best Photography Awards are also looking for Videos apart from still images because the high-definition video has become very significant in the record and sharing the wild. In the case of Videography, entrants must share their favorite experience, including their own clips and the wildlife behavior they have observed.

Submission of the Photograph

Images

  • Each entrant must make a copy of their original images as low-resolution JPEGs (72 ppi) and it should not be larger than 500 K for each of the images.
  • The entrants must label each file with their first and last name, images, title and the category separated by underscores.

Videos

  • Entrants must upload their submission through YouTube, Vimeo, or other viewing platforms and provide the editors with the link (and password, if necessary).

NatureaTMs Best Photography Asia Awards Selection Process

  • The photographers need to present the RAW files that is the original copy of their images, if their images have passed by the judges into the final round.
  • The selected photographers must set their camera to RAW or RAW/Jpeg shooting format for best results, a complete caption, and their camera specifications before the final judging. And if they fail to do so, they will be disqualified.

It is to be noted that information on how to send high-resolution files and accompanying caption information will be provided to you if your images reach the final round.
