About NEST Scholarship

NEST Scholarship Exam is specially designed to students' choice, skills, and interest and is essential at this stage of their education. NEST provides a scholarship for bonafide students of science, engineering, and medical courses. At least 20 scholarships will be awarded. This is the 17th Edition of NEST- Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test.   • Result: The result of Nationwide Education and Scholarship Test is expected to be declared on 5 April 2016, and the score cards can be obtained on request.

NEST Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Gender  Any
Region  All India
Class/ Age 12th Science students, Engineering students, MBBS/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BDS, BCA and B.Sc all, Diploma Engineering(only final year students)
  • Only bonafide students registered in colleges are eligible for this scholarship
  • Academic Qualification:
    • NEST 1: The first and Second-year students of Engineering, MBBS/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BDS, BCA and B.Sc all,12th Science, Diploma Engineering(only final year students)
    • NEST 2: The third and fourth-year students of Engineering, MBBS/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BDS, BCA and (only computer and IT)

Not Eligible to Participate:

  • Anyone who tops the list in a category cannot apply again in the same category
  • Anyone who has won the top prize in previous year CANNOT appear again in the same category.

NEST Scholarship Reward

The prize money for the Rank 1 Holders has been revised. The prize details to be distributed to the NEST 1 and NEST 2 rank holders are given below

  • NEST 1: 10 or more scholarships of Rs. 30,000 each with Rs.75,000 to first rank holder in the category
  • NEST 2: 10 or more scholarships of Rs. 40,000 each with Rs. 1,00,000 to first rank holder in the category.

Grading of Marks for NEST Scholarship

The Following table shows the grading of marks:

Grade A+ From 90% to 100% From 180 to 200 marks
Grade A 80% and below 90% From 160 to 179 marks
Grade B+ 70% and below 80% From 140 to 159 marks
Grade B 60% and below 70% From 120 to 139 marks
Grade C+ 50% and below 60% From 100 to 119 marks
Grade C 40% and below 50% From 80 to 99 marks

  • The application can be filled online as well as offline.

Steps for Application for NEST Exam- Offline application Process

  • The applicant has to make a DD of the required amount (Participation Fees + Late Fees- if any)
  • The DD has to be made in favour of SEMCI India payable at Mumbai.
  • Participation Fees: Without late fee
    • NEST 1: Rs. 600
    • NEST 2: Rs. 700
  • Fill up the application form correctly and paste your latest photograph in the space provided.

Submission of NEST Application Form

Candidates must send their application form along with Demand Draft through registered post or courier to the following address.

  • To get the Unsolved Question Papers of NEST of last 5 years the student has to add Rs. 300 extra in the DD Amount.
    • Students who apply in July & August will get the last 5 years question papers of NEST for free (Worth Rs. 300).
