About NEST Junior Scholarship

NEST Junior Scholarship invites application only from bona fide students of India who are currently studying in class 9, 10,11 or 12 of science stream only. The student can appear in any of the groups of the exam that are Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) OR Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM). NEST Junior is a Scholarship Test for Science students and it is the 18th Edition of NEST Junior.

The topper of NEST Junior 2017 will get Rs. 50,000 as scholarship also 20 scholarships of Rs. 25,000 each will be distributed to the candidates on merit basis. NEST Scholarship Junior 2017 Exam would be conducted on 30 July 2017 (Sunday)

Latest Update- NEST Admit Card will be available from 23 July 2017. Admit card will be sent to the registered email of the student.

About SEMCI (India) and The S. U. Foundation of India (S.U.F.I.)

SEMCI and S.U.F.I are the conducting body of NEST Junior Scholarship Test. S.U.F.I is a Non -Governmental Organisation which has a serious concern about the social, economic and educational welfare of individuals and groups.

It is the chief sponsor of NEST. SEMCI India is the flag bearer of S.U.F.I and started with the business of organising events of all kinds in general, but with a special focus on social and educational events.

Details
  • Only bona fide students of India appearing or passing in class 9-12 exam in 2017 of the science stream can apply for NEST Junior Scholarship 2017.
  • Anyone who has won the top prize in previous editions CANNOT appear again in the same category.

NEST Junior Scholarship Reward

Certificate of appreciation will be awarded to the students who scores an aggregate of 40% and above in all the four sections of the Scholarship Exam put together. The topper winning the scholarship shall be felicitated in a gathering and presided over by some renowned person of knowledge in the last week of October 2017 in Mumbai.

The rewards will be distributed to NEST Junior I as well as II. So, the candidates need to follow up the information given below. The rewards for both are different.

For NEST Junior Scholarship - I

There are at least 10 scholarships of Rs. 25,000/- each to the top 10 scorers (with Rs. 40,000 to Rank 1 in NEST Junior I category up to 1000 candidates. Thereafter, there is at least 1 scholarship in every 200 candidates on an average

For NEST Junior Scholarship - II

The national topper will receive Rs. 50,000 and in the category of other prizes, there will be around 20 scholarships of Rs. 30,000 each. The other benefits will also be granted to the students given below.

NEST Junior Scholarship Application form and Process

The candidates can apply for NEST Junior 2017 through online mode by following the link given below. A set of six sample question papers will be given for free for those who apply in January and February. For all other who want sample papers, they can add Rs. 250 to the total amount.

The candidates are provided with the steps to fill the application form. The candidates are advised to fill the form by following the steps so that the candidates can ignore the mistakes while filling the application form.

The candidates are required to register themselves on the official website of the NEST by following the link and then the candidates need to fill the application form by filling all the details correctly. The candidates should also be suggested to check the details filled by them before moving to the next step.

Upload Passport Size Photo

The student has to upload a passport size photo of maximum 100 kb in JPG, JPEG, GIFor TIF format. The student should keep the scanned copy of the photograph ready before you start your application process. The photo uploading by the candidates should be visible and should be uploaded in the given format.

Payment and Submission

The last step of filling the NEST Junior Scholarship is to make the payment of the application fee and submit the NEST Junior Scholarship Application form. The details about how to pay the application fee and the information about the submission of the application form are given below.

Payment of NEST Junior Scholarship Application Fees

The candidates can make the payment of the application fee through any of the mode given below. The candidates should remember that the application fee should be paid only once.

  • Through Online Mode: Through this mode, the candidates can pay the application fee by Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking
  • Through Demand Draft: The DD should be in favour of "SEMCI India" payable at Mumbai. The candidate should put their name and registration number on the back side of the DD.
    • If your mode of payment is by Demand Draft, your application will be accepted, and you will receive the confirmation of its acceptance only after the receipt of your Demand Draft in our office and its encashment.

Application Form Submission

Students who apply online do not have to send the application form to the organisers of the scholarship exam. There is no need of attestation, verification or recommendation required for participation.

Students who have applied offline will send the application form along with the demand draft of Rs 500 in favour of SEMCI INDIA payable at Mumbai by Registered Post/ Courier and it should reach the organisers before the due date on the address given below:

NEST Junior Scholarship Selection Process

  • The medium of Test: NEST Junior will be an online test.
  • Duration of the Test: 2 hours
  • Examination Pattern: There will be 200 questions for 200 marks divided into 4 sections as given below: 

The NEST Junior Exam Pattern given below is for the both, from class 9 & 12 and from class 11 & 12. The candidates according to their eligibility need to go through the complete information about the number of questions and marks.

Syllabus of the Test: The content and the level of questions are based on SSC/ HSC books prescribed by CBSC, ICSE, and other state board in India. The scholarship is awarded based on the merit in an online test.

NEST Junior Result

NEST Junior Scholarship 2017 Result is announced on 5 September 2017. Winners will be informed individually by the organisation. The Result announced is final but still if the candidates find  any discrepancy in the spelling of their name or their school they can contact the organisers before 30 September 2017, by sending an email at info@nest.in

  • Score Card: The students who participated in NEST Junior can download their score card along with all India ranking in 1st week of November.
  • Sending the Winner's Cheque: Before sending the cheque the organisers will call the winners and confirm their details on phone and only after the verification they will send the cheques and Certificates.
