About Medhabruti Scholarship

Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 to provide support and motivation to outstanding students of Odisha pursuing higher studies in the field of General, Technical and Professional education. The Government of Odisha is offering different scholarship every year through Higher Education Department on merit-cum-means basis. The application process for Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 is started, and the interested candidates can apply as per the following schedule.

Student Academic Management System (SAMS)

 

Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 can be availed by both the SAMS as well as Non-SAMS Students. However, the Application deadlines for both the scholarships are different. 

  • Students studying in SAMS Colleges (i.e.+2/+3 students admitted to Colleges through online selection by Govt. of Odisha) need not apply separately. The relevant documents such as Mark sheets, income, residence and bank account details are to be submitted to Principal who will upload the data online. 
  • NON-SAMS students have to apply online for the scholarship.The students are required to submit the downloaded form along with supporting documents to the Head of the Institution where he/she is continuing higher study. All applied records will be displayed in the Principal’s login who will verify the same.

  •  Junior Merit Scholarship for + 2 Students - Qualifying marks in the last examination (in aggregate) --- 60% of 10th Board (Final Result) for both boys and girls (BSE, Odisha/CBSE & ICSE, New Delhi)
  • Senior Merit for +3 Students (for B.A, B.Sc. & B.Com. Only) - Qualifying marks in last examination (in aggregate) 60% of 12th Board (Final Result) for both boys and girls
  • P.G. Merit (Post Graduate) Scholarship (for M.A, M.Sc. & M.Com. Only) - Qualifying marks in last examination (in aggregate) - 60% of + 3 Final Result for both boys and girls.
  • Technical & Professional- Qualifying marks in last examination (in aggregate) 60% of 12th Board (Final Result) or 60% in +3/equivalent examination as applicable to pursue the Technical/Professional courses for both boys and girls.
  • Annual income ceiling of parents must not exceed Rs. 6.00 lakhs.
  • Students pursuing their higher studies through distance learning correspondence are not eligible for such scholarship.

  • The ratio for the scholarships awarded for +2, +3 and PG students would be 50:50 for boys and girls.
  • A student already in receipt of any scholarship awarded by the State/Central Government or any other agency can not avail this scholarship unless he/she intends to forgo the other scholarship.

Candidates can apply to Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 through online mode only. The application will be filled and submitted online; candidates must retain the printout of filled application form for future reference.

Steps to Fill Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 Application Form

 

  • STEP 1: Scholarship Information – Candidates have to select the type of scholarship from given options
  • STEP 2: Applicant Information – Candidates have to fill their personal information such as Name, Gender, DOB, etc.
  • STEP 3: Upload Photograph – Candidates must upload their photograph in the application form. The photograph should be in the format of JPG, JPEG or PNG file.
  • STEP 4: Parent/ Guardian Information – Candidates required to fill their parent or guardian information in the application form.
  • STEP 5: Permanent Address Information – Candidates required to fill the detail of their permanent Address in this section
  • STEP 6: Examination Information – Candidates have to fill their educational information in this section.
  • STEP 7: Bank Information – Candidates have to provide their bank details for transaction of scholarship amount. 

Submission of Medhabruti Scholarship Application Form

 

For SAMS College Students - The application form of Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 Application Form has to be filled and submitted through online mode only. Candidates must retain the print out of filled application form for their own as well as for office.

For Non-SAMS College Students - Candidates are informed that they have to submit the “Office Copy” of the application signed by them and Head of the Institution along with relevant documents at any SAMS Resource Center (SRC). Click on the following link to get List of SAMS Resource Center.

Renewal of Medhabruti Scholarship


Candidates can renew their scholarship by filling separate renewal application form. There are three parts in this renewal application form, candidates have to fill their scholarship and institution details in part 1 and in the part 2 they have to fill their personal details. Bank information of the candidate has to be mentioned in the part 3.

Medhabruti Scholarship Selection Process

Mode of Scholarship Disbursement

  • The disbursement will be made through Electronic Credit System (ECS). The payments will be through the Savings Bank Accounts of the selected students directly by the above system. For this online account transfer, the Saving Bank A/c. of the students must be an inactive and operative condition.
  • The scholarship amount shall be disbursed in a phased manner. If the scholarship amount could not be disbursed in a financial year due to any reason, the said disbursements shall be made in the next financial year.

Medhabruti Scholarship Selection Process 2017-18

  • Qualifying marks in last examination (in aggregate) --- 60% of 10th Board (Final Result) for both boys and girls (BSE, Odisha/CBSE & ICSE, New Delhi)

  • Quantum (No. of students) per year --- 10000

  • Period of scholarship ( in years) --- 2 years

  • Amount of scholarship per year

(10 months in a year @ Rs. 300/-) --- Rs.3000/-

  • Annual income ceiling of parents must not exceed Rs. 6.00 lakhs.

  • Selection of students for this category of the scholarship shall be made through the descending order of merit.

  • The CBSE /ICSE grading system i.e. Grade A 1, A 2, B 1 & B 2 shall be converted to the percentage of 95%, 85%, 75% & 65% respectively.

Senior Merit for +3 Students

(for B.A, B.Sc. & B.Com. Only)

  • Amount of scholarship per year (10 months in a year @ Rs. 500)  Toral - Rs.5000

  • Period of scholarship ( in years) - 3 years

  • Quantum (No. of students) per year - 3000

  • Qualifying marks in the last examination (in aggregate) --- 60% of 12th Board (Final Result) for both boys and girls.

  • Annual income ceiling of parents must not exceed Rs. 6.00 lakhs.

  • Selection of students for this category of the scholarship shall be made through the descending order of merit.

  • The CBSE /ICSE grading system i.e. Grade A 1, A 2, B 1 & B 2 shall be converted to the percentage of 95%, 85%, 75% & 65% respectively.

P.G. Merit

(Post Graduate) Scholarship (for M.A, M.Sc. & M.Com. Only)

  • (10 months in a year @ Rs. 1000) - Rs.10000/-
  • Amount of scholarship per year

  • Period of scholarship ( in years) - 2 years

  • Quantum (No. of students) per year - 1500

  • Qualifying marks in last examination (in aggregate) - 60% of + 3 Final Result for both boys and girls.

  • Annual income ceiling of parents must not exceed Rs. 6.00 lakhs.

  • Selection of students for this category of the scholarship shall be made through the descending order of merit.

  • M.Phil and Ph.D., students are not eligible for PG merit.

Technical & Professional

  • Qualifying marks in the last examination (in aggregate) --- 60% of 12th Board (Final Result) or 60% in the +3/equivalent examination as applicable to pursue the Technical/Professional courses for both boys and girls.

  •  

    Quantum (No. of students) per year --- 10000

  • Period of scholarship ( in years) --- As per course duration ( Maximum 5 years)

     

  • Amount of scholarship per year (10 months in a year @ Rs. 1000/-) --- Rs.10000/-

  • Annual income ceiling of parents must not exceed Rs. 6.00 lakh.

  • Students pursuing technical/ Professional studies in the state and in reputed National / outside the state institutions shall get scholarship observing the qualifying mark, resident and income criteria only.
