About Medhabruti Scholarship

Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 also known as e-Medhabruti is created by the Government of Odisha for providing support and motivation to outstanding students of Odisha pursuing higher studies in the field of General, Technical and Professional Education. The Government of Odisha is offering different scholarship every year through Higher Education Department on the merit-cum-means basis for the upliftment of the meritorious students. The structure of Medhabruti Scholarship is mentioned below, and the candidates can apply for the scholarship scheme online until 25 January 2017.

Details
  • Students of Junior Level to Post Graduation Level are eligible for this scholarship.
  • Candidates with Qualifying marks of 60% in class 10, 12, Graduation, and Post Graduation Level are eligible for this scholarship.(Diploma level and correspondence courses are not eligible)
  • The Annual income of the parents must not exceed Rs. 6.00 Lakh. However, There is no income restriction of parents of the girl students under the scheme of "Special Girls Merit")

Renewal of Medhabruti Scholarship

Candidates can renew their scholarship by filling separate renewal application form which must be submitted before the last date i.e. 31 March 2017. There are three parts in this renewal application form, candidates have to fill their scholarship and institution details in part 1 and in the part 2 they have to fill their personal details. Bank information of the candidate has to be mentioned in part 3.

Medhabruti Scholarship Application form and Process

Candidates can apply to Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 through online mode only. The application will be filled and submitted online before the last date i.e. 25 January 2017, and if applicants are applying through the SRC's, he/she must submit the application form before the 27 January 2017. Candidates are advised to retain the printout of filled application form which is to be submitted to the head of their respective institutions whose details are given below.

Steps to Fill Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 Application Form

STEP 1: Scholarship Information – Candidates have to select the type of scholarship from given options available.

STEP 2: Applicant Information – Candidates have to fill their personal information such as Name, Gender, DOB, etc.

STEP 3: Upload Photograph – Candidates must upload their photograph in the application form. The photograph should be in the format of JPG, JPEG or PNG file.

STEP 4: Parent/ Guardian Information – Candidates required to fill their parent or guardian information in the application form.

STEP 5: Permanent Address Information – Candidates required to fill the detail of their Permanent Address in this section

STEP 6: Examination Information – Candidates have to fill their educational information in this section.

STEP 7: Bank Information – Candidates have to provide their bank details for the transaction of scholarship amount.

STEP 8: The applicants must take the printout of the application form with application number printed on it for their future references.

Submission of Application Form

The application form of Medhabruti Scholarship 2017 Application Form has to be filled and submitted through online mode only. Candidates must retain the printout of filled application form for their own as well as for submission. The candidates are required to submit the downloaded form along with supporting documents to the head of the institution where s/he is continuing their higher study.

Submission by Institution: Candidates are informed that they have to submit the “Office Copy” of the application form to the head of their respective institutions who will be further be submitting the application form to the SAMS Resource Center. Submission by Outside Students: Students who are studying outside can send the hard copy of the downloaded application forms duly countersigned by his/her head of the institution along with copies of supporting documents to the address given below before the due date.

Medhabruti Scholarship Selection Process

Selection of students for this Category of Scholarship shall be made through the descending order of merit, and there will be 50:50 ratio for the gender selection at the time of preparing the merit list of the students. The eligibility for other categories of candidates are mentioned below: 

Junior Merit Scholarship for +2 Students: The CBSE /ICSE grading system i.e. Grade A1, A2, B1 & B2 shall be converted to the percentage of 95%, 85%, 75% & 65% respectively for generating merit list.

Senior Merit for +3 Students: The CBSE /ICSE grading system i.e. Grade A1, A2, B1 & B2 shall be converted to the percentage of 95%, 85%, 75% & 65% respectively.

Technical & Professional:

  • Regarding the selection of current beneficiaries under the Technical/ Professional category. It has been decided that the number in each category will be based on the rank secured in the concerned entrance examination only in respect of ‘prestigious national level Government colleges’. About other colleges, it will be necessary to go by the original marks secured by them In CHSE examination for determining the eligibility. In the case of students of Odisha who have passed class XII in other boards like CBSE or ICSE, the standard equivalence methodology will be done to bring in parity with CHSE, Odisha.
  • Students pursuing Technical/Professional Studies in reputed National/Outside the state institutions shall get scholarship observing resident and income criteria only.
  • Similarly, students of Veterinary, Agriculture, Fishery, and Forestry & Home Science shall be awarded scholarship according to the rank allotted by OUAT.
  • For the award of engineering scholarship to students pursuing their studies at the state level institutions, selection shall be made purely by the position obtained by a student in the JEE conducted by the Director of Technical Education & Training.
  • The quotas for each stream of technical/professional education are to be made in the below manner.

  • This scholarship is awarded to only girl students
  • There is no income ceiling of parents of the girl students under this scheme.

General Instructions for Medhabruti Scholarships

  • Since the scholarships for the +2, +3, UG level are based on the income criteria, the students will have to submit their income and resident certificate proof attested by the Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tahasildar / Additional Tahasildar.
  • The students whose parents are working under Odisha State Govt. have to produce income as well as resident proof from the employer.
  • The applicants who are availing the benefits from other scholarships schemes will not be awarded Medhabruti Scholarship, however, if they choose to forgo the previous scholarship they will be considered eligible.
  • Applicants are advised to not to fill the multiple application forms for the scholarships as it may lead to the rejection of their application.
  •  The scholarship can be terminated if the academic records of the candidates are unsatisfactory as per their performances; Therefore the good, satisfactory performance of the candidates is required for the uninterrupted disbursement.
