About HT Scholarship

Hindustan Times (HT) Scholarship Program is for the students studying in class 5-9 in Schools of Mumbai. To be considered for the scholarship, the student must have scored at least 60% marks in his/her previous class and the proof of the same is to be attached with the application form. Winner of Hindustan Times (HT) Scholarship Program will get cash prize worth Rs. 50,000 each. To participate in the Scholarship program, applicants are required to fill in the application form, write an essay, get the form endorsed by the School Principal and submit it to the concerned authorities.

The students will have to appear in Robomate+ HT Quiz 

HT Scholarship

  • The topic of the essay for 2016 scholarship is “What is your most precious possession?
  • Out of the applications received only 50, students will be selected for the award of the scholarship.The selection of the winners will be done on the basis of their academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities, essay, and personal interview.
  • The last date to complete the application process/nomination process for the scholarship is January 24,2017. Last year 80,000 students applied for the scholarship program.

HT Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Class/ Age Class 5-9
Details
  • Nationality: The students should be nationals of India.
  • Academic Qualification: The applicant needs to be a student of class 5-9 and should have scored more than 60% marks in their previous class final exams.

Not eligible to participate:

  • Winners of Hindustan Times Scholarship Programme from any of the previous years are not eligible to participate.
  • Employees of Hindustan Times and its associated organisations are not eligible to participate.

HT Scholarship Reward

All scholarships will be of Rs. 50,000.Scholarships will be awarded to 50 winners in an award function. The award function will be held in February 2017.

  • The winners will have to produce the following documents to claim the scholarship.
    • Identity Proof   
    • Address Proof   
    • PAN Card (of the Parent/guardian)  
    •  Signed copy of the terms and conditions of the Parent/guardian

HT Scholarship Application form and Process

The candidates can fill the Hindustan Times (HT) Scholarship Application form through both online and offline mode. The instructions to fill the application form is given below for each mode. Candidates are advised to read the instruction carefully.

Online mode

The candidates applying through online mode need to follow the instructions below. The link to apply online is given below.

  • The candidates need to follow the link provided above to apply for the Hindustan Times (HT) Scholarship Programme.
  • Candidates need to fill the personal, academic and communication details while filling the application form.
  • The candidates also need to write an essay of 250 words on the topic "What is your most precious possession?"
  • At last, they need to submit the application form by clicking on "Submit" button

Offline mode

The candidates applying through offline mode need to follow the instruction given below.

  • Forms printed in newspaper “HINDUSTAN TIMES” in Mumbai Edition
  • Forms distributed in schools by HT Media Limited representatives.

Documents to be enclosed

  • Essay writing: Candidates have to write an essay of 250 words on the topic " What is your most precious possession?"
  • Previous years academic records: The candidates have to attach the previous year academic records along with the application form

Submission of HT Scholarship Application Form 2016-17

For Online applicants

The candidates applying online do not need to submit any hard copy to the head office of Hindustan Times. They need to submit the application form after filling the nomination form and writing an essay of 250 words.

For Offline applicants

After filling the HT Scholarship Programme Application Form 2016-17, the applicants need to get it endorsed by school principal/ teacher and submit it to their respective school or they can send the application form to the following address:

HT Scholarship Selection Process

The selection for the Scholarship Program shall be based on following criteria.

  1. Essay: Assessment in essay.
  2. Academic and ECA: Participant's academic and all round achievement.
  3. Interview by a panel of senior editors: Each eligible student's interview will be interviewed by HTML panelist.

In stage 1 selected by team of experts- 150 students will be selected that is 30 from each class .

In stage 2 selected by senior editors- 150 students would be interviewed and 50 students would be selected.

The successful students will be intimated by HT Media Ltd.
