JEE Advanced 2017 will be conducted by IIT Madras, the detailed schedule is yet to be announced. The schedule for JEE Mains has not been announced yet by CBSE. As IIT Madras will conduct JEE Advanced, so the JEE Cell at IIT madras will finalise all the process of events necessary to conduct an exam. IIT Madras will also prepare and design the question paper, answer keys, announcements of results and handling the JEE Portal. Last year, JEE Advanced as conducted by IIT Guwahati.
JEE Advanced is the gateway for students (who have passed class 12 + JEE Main) to take admission into the IITs, NITs, IIITs and ISM Dhanbad.
- IITs have a total of 10,500 seats. Out of these, 15% seats are reserved for SCs, 7.5% for STs, 27% for OBCs and the remaining 50.5% are for general category students. Last year near about 12 lakh student appeared for JEE Main 2016.
Changes in JEE Advanced Pattern 2017
The Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD Ministry) has decided in the month of April 2016 that JEE Admission 2017 for the engineering Graduate courses will not be based on class 12 marks. Class 12 marking will not be the determining factor in rankings in Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering Admission 2017.
- An official said that the present system of allotting 40% weightage to class 12 marks for deters mining ranks in JEE shall be dispensed. However, in order to qualify for appearing, in JEE the students must have secured at least 75% marks or be in top 20 percentile in Class 12 examining. SC & St students should have 65% marks.
MHRD has also decided a few changes in the JEE pattern for next year after examining the Ashok Mishra Committee’s report and public feedback. The official further added that all other JEE Examination systems will remain unaffected. As mentioned, IIT Madras will be responsible for handling JEE Advanced 2017 Portal, designing the question paper, answer keys and announcement of the JEE Advanced results.
