Jammu and Kashmir Students Photography Contest is organised by the State Education Department of Jammu & Kashmir Government students studying at Jammu & Kashmir State. Now the students have a golden chance showcase their talent by participating in the photography contest. The candidates who wish to take part in the photography competition will have to capture the photographs related to the season's major snowfall. The participants can also submit the videos and pictures which are related to the fun activities associated with the snow art.

"To participate in the competition, the snowman/snow sculpture/other snow art have to be made, and two to three good quality/ high-resolution photographs of the same from various angles have to be clicked by the students” an official statement issued by the J&K School Education Department.

About the J&K Photography Contest

The photography contest is divided into 2 categories 1st category is for the age group of 15 to 17 years participant and 2nd category is for 18 to 25 years participants. The winners of the photography competition in both categories will be selected on the basis of the following quality of the photograph sent by them:

  • Concept
  • Design
  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Social message

The candidates want to participate in the competition, will have to send their entry with the details such as name, contact number, residential address, theme of the picture, email address etc. the grand prize of the photography competition will be Rs 1 lakh and other winners will receive the attractive prizes awarded at every level of the competition.

Submission of entries for J&K Photography Contest

The students who are desirous to participate in the competition have to send their entry through email on the official email address of the State education department of Jammu & Kashmir government at innovationdsek@gmail.com. The students can also participate in the competition by sending their entry via mail to the Cultural Coordinators of the respective Chief Education Officers. 

An official statement from the J & K government says "All snow art works created after January 6, 2017, the day of first major snowfall of this season, shall be eligible for the contest."  The statement also says that “adding the competition shall be at different levels in the entire winter zone of the state, including higher secondary level, district level and finally at the state level, with prizes to be awarded to the winners at each of these stages
.
