About Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice(AA) Recruitment

Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA) Recruitment 2018 February Batch has started from 22 May 2017, for the course commencing in February 2018. Online applications are invited from the eligible candidates who are unmarried from all over India. Recruitment for Artificer Apprentice will be done on the basis of Paper-Pen based Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Medical Examinations. Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice(AA) Recruitment Eligibility criteria

Marital status


Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for Indian Navy Sailor for Artificer Apprentice 2018 February Batch.

Gender


Only male candidates can apply for enrolment as sailors for Artificer Apprentice.

Educational Qualifications


The candidates apply for enrolment as sailors for Artificer Apprentice must have qualified in class 12 or equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks in the subjects Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects: Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science. 

Age


The candidates applying for enrolment as sailors for Artificer Apprentice must be born on 1 Feb 1998 to 31 Jan 2001 (Both dates inclusive).

Physical Fitness


Minimum height of the candidates should be 157 cms and Weight & Chest should be proportionate. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any defect & disease likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions as per Navy Order.

Tattoos


Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms and on the reversed side of palm/ back side of the hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not acceptable and the candidate will be barred from recruitment.

Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice(AA) Recruitment Application form and Admit Card

The candidates can apply for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice(AA) Recruitment 2018 February Batch through online mode only, given however, the submission of the application form is to be made through offline mode. The candidates can apply online by clicking here or they can visit the official website of India Navy at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. The candidates can submit their application form by following the simple steps given below:

Registration Closed

STEP 1: Filling the Application Form

First, the candidates have to visit the homepage of the official website. Thereafter the candidates have to click on the link “Apply online Sailors Entry”. Now the candidates have to enter their personal details such as name, date of birth, father’s name, mother’s name etc educational details like marks details of class 10 & 12, other educational detail (If have) and contact details such as phone number, address, email ID etc

STEP 2: Upload the Documents

After filling the application form the candidates have to upload the required document on the same portal. The candidates have to upload the following documents:

  • Mark sheet of class 10 & 12
  • Certificates of class 10 & 12
  • NCC certificates (If have)
  • Sports certificates (If have)
  • Domicile certificate
  • Birth certificate

Now the candidates have to check all the information in the application form and make sure all the details are correct.

STEP 3: Take Print Out of the Application Form

After checking the application form, the candidates have to click the final submission button. Now the candidates have to take 2 printed copy of the online application form for sending it via post whose details are given below.

Submission of the application form will be done only through offline mode. The candidates have to take 2 printed copy of the online application form. One copy duly signed, along with attested copies of required documents (As mentioned above) & one self-addressed envelope of size 22x10 cms with Rs 10 stamp affixed on envelope to be forwarded at the address is given below.

Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice Admit Card 2018


Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA) Admit Card can be downloaded from the official website or by following the link given below. No individual call letters will be sent to any of the candidates for the written exam. The Admit card will be only issued to the shortlisted candidates which are to be downloaded and a printout of it is to be produced at the examination centre.

Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice(AA) Recruitment Result and Counselling

The candidates will be selected for Indian Navy Sailor for AA Recruitment on the order of merit on their performance in the following:

  • Written Test
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and
  • Medical Examinations

Qualifying in all 3 tests mentioned above is mandatory for final selection. The following are the other important rules related to the selection process:

  • The ‘Online’ applications along with the required certificates will be sorted out State-wise.
  • The qualifying cut off the percentage of any state may be increased in the case of more number of applications. Short-listing criteria will be based on the percentage of marks secured by the candidates in 10+2.
  • Call up letters cum admit card for eligible short listed candidates indicating the date, time and place for recruitment tests would be required to be downloaded from the official website of Indian Nave at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
  • All the original certificates required such as mark sheets and NCC certificate (if have) are to be produced at the time of written examination. If the details provided during the online application are not matching with original documents, the candidature of the candidates will be cancelled.
  • The candidates declared Temporary Medically Unfit in the recruitment medical can avail specialist review from the specified Military Hospital within a maximum period of 21 days.

Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice Recruitment Training & Initial Engagement

 

The candidates will be finally selected for training which will be held according to Indian Navy schedule. During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are given books, reading material, uniforms, food and accommodation etc. free of cost. The following are the criteria for selection and Initial Engagement.

Training: The training for the course will commence in total 9 weeks at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch and Trade will be allotted as per the requirement of Service.

Discharge as Unsuitable: The candidates may be discharged due to unsatisfactory performance at any time during the training.

Initial Engagement: The initial engagement is subject to successful completion of training. The initial engagement is for a period of 20 years.

Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice(AA) Recruitment Exam pattern

Written Test

The written test question paper will be based on class 12 syllabus and the candidates are required to pass in all section of the question paper. Following are some important points related to written test:

  • Duration of written test examination will be 1 hour.
  • The question paper will be objective type and in both Hindi & English language.
  • The question paper will comprise of four sections such as English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge.

Physical Fitness Test

  • Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (FTP) is mandatory for the final selection.
  • PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
  • The candidates involved in sports, swimming and extra-curricular activities are desirable.

Medical Standards

  • Medical examination will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
  • The candidate’s minimum height should be 157 cms. And weight & Chest should be proportionate.
  • The candidate must be in good physical and mental health, free from any disease and defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat under peace as well as war conditions as per Navy Order (Special) 01/2008.
  • Visual Standards
    • Without Glass: Better Eye- 6/12, Worse Eye- 6/12

Indian Navy Sailor for AA Recruitment Pay Scale


Pay & Allowances:
The Artificer Apprentices Basic Pay scale is Rs 5,200-20,200. In addition, the selected candidates will be paid Grade Pay of Rs 2000 plus MSP of Rs 2000 plus 'X' Group Pay of Rs 1400 of plus DA.

Promotion: Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer with pay scale of Rs 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay of Rs 4800 Plus MSP of Rs 2000 plus 'X' Group Pay of Rs 1400 plus DA.

Other Benefits: Sailors are entitled to medical treatment, Leave Travel Concessions for self and dependents, Group Housing Benefits and other privileges.
