About IICD

IICD Admission 2018 – Indian Institute of Crafts & Design every year conducts Pen and Paper Based Entrance Exam for admission to Undergraduate Courses & Post Graduate Course. IICD Jaipur is an autonomous institute of excellence, set up by the Government of Rajasthan, to act as a catalyst for the crafts sector. IICD 2018 is for admission into degree level professional courses like Under Graduate (UG) Professional Diploma in Craft Design, Post Graduate (PG) Professional Diploma in Craft Design.

IICD Entrance Exam will be conducted on 15 April 2018 & the last date to apply for IICD 2018 is 4 April 2018. The exam would be conducted in 11 cities across India. IICD Eligibility criteria

For Under Graduate (UG) Professional Diploma in Craft Design

Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board of education.

  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination for Class 12 in the year 2018 are eligible to apply.

Domicile Clause: Anybody from India/NRI candidates can apply for UG& PG courses offered by IICD Jaipur but 25% of the seats will be reserved for students of Rajasthan Domicile.

For Post Graduate (PG) Professional Diploma in Craft Design

Academic Qualification: Graduates in any discipline with an aptitude towards craft, fashion or design are eligible to apply.

  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in the year 2018 are eligible to apply.
  • The candidate who have a Recognised Degree or Diploma (minimum 3 years after 10+2) in Architecture / Design, Craft Design, Fashion / Fine Art, Home Science in Textiles & Clothing are eligible to apply.
  • Child of an artist who has 5 years of direct work experience in hereditary traditional crafts after completing Class 12.

IICD Application form and Admit Card

Candidates are required to fill the Common Application Form for all the Undergraduate courses available Online. The last date to apply is 4 April 2018. The entire process of making an application for admission in various courses during the academic session 2018-19 has been made online.

IICD 2018 Application Form Online Instructions

  • Before filling up the IICD Application form 2018, candidates have to pay the registration fee using online mode or demand draft.
  • The applicant has to register on IICD Website before filling up the application form. The Registration Number, User Id (Mobile Number) & password will be sent to the registered mobile number of the user to log in. Follow these 4 steps to fill IICD 2018 online application form
    • Step 1: Add Personal Details
    • Step 2: Upload Documents (Photo, Signature, Thumb Impression)
    • Step 4: Print Confirmation Page
  • For taking printout of the form, after filling up the registration form don’t press the Submit button, first, take the printout and then press the button to submit your registration form
  • Once the candidate has pressed “FINAL SUBMIT” button and IICD 2018 Application form is submitted, entries in the form cannot be modified/changed/corrected in any way.

Application Submission


The candidates can submit IICD 2018 application form through online mode on the official website. Once the candidate has furnished all the details and clicked on the SUBMIT button means that the form has been submitted. Candidate need not submit any hard copy of the application or challan to IICD.

  • In case payment is made via Demand Draft: The Demand Draft should reach the following address before 4 April 2018 by hand or by post along with a printout of the form at the following address:

IICD 2018 Admit Card 

 

It is compulsory for the candidates to bring the print out of their Admit Card for entrance test along with self-attested recent passport size photographs firmly pasted on it. Admit card is essential for entrance into Examination Hall, Without it, candidates cannot appear for the exam. Admit Card will be mailed to eligible candidates by 10 April 2018 on the candidate’s email id.

IICD Fees

The candidates are required to pay an Application Fee of Rs 1500. The candidates have to pay examination fee through Demand Draft and through Credit Card / Debit Card / Netbanking as under:

The Entrance Test will take place in two parts i.e. Part A and Part B. Here we are giving the schedule of both the parts.

IICD Selection Process


IICD admission 2018 will be conducted in three stages which are mentioned below:

Stage 1: General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test

It will judge the abilities such as estimation of sizes and proportion, observation, synthesis and visual interpretation and general awareness.

Stage 2: Material, Color & Conceptual Test

  • The following abilities of the candidates will be judged in Stage 2:
  • Intelligent use of materials conceptualises and realise a 3-dimensional form, skill of handling material.
  • To observe, think and expand ideas, create the solution based on a plan and strategy.
  • Ability to provide multiple solutions to the given problem with written description.

Kindly Note: Candidates have to carry pens, pencils (2B, 4B & 6B). Other required material will be provided by the institute in the examination kit

Stage 3: Interview of Final Selected Candidates

The following abilities of the candidates will be judged in Stage 3:

  • Aptitude for crafts
  • Intelligence quotient (IQ)
  • Communication Ability
  • General Awareness of Crafts & Design
  • Overall Personal Achievements in academics and co-curricular activities.

Portfolio:  It is advisable for the candidates to bring some examples of their creative work to show the interview panel. This would help them to understand their capabilities. It could be anything that candidates have done themselves –Sketching, Painting, Embroidery and Photography etc. or if candidates have worked with the material, or written anything creative that could also be included in the portfolio.

Mode of Exam: Pen and Paper-based Test

  • Material required for Material, Color & Conceptual Test: You must bring pens, pencils,  (2B, 4B & 6B), scissor, scale, cello tape, paper cutter, fevistick, eraser, colour pencils/dry pastels/watercolour etc.
