MHT CET 2017 also known as Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is a single Common Entrance Test conducted by the Government of Maharashtra for BVSC & H, Engineering, Health Sciences,  and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2017- 2018. MHT CET 2017 is conducted in order to offer admission to MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BPTh/ BOTh/ BASLP/ BP&O/B.Sc (Nursing)/ BVSc, AH, B.Tech/B.E, B.Pharm courses in all the participating Government/Municipal Corporation, Government aided and Private Medical Health Science Colleges/Institutions.

Latest UpdateAs per the latest Notification B.E and B.Tech admissions of 15 percent All India Quota Seats in the Private Unaided Institutions from the Academic Year 2017-18 will be based on JEE Main Paper 1. The vacant seats (if any) in All India Quota will be allotted to the candidates as per the merit list prepared on the basis of MHT CET Score.

JEE Main 2017 

  • The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra, has released the MHT CET Exam Date. The MHT CET is going to be held on 11 May 2017. Maharashtra CET Exam Dates 2017 announced.  
  • According to the Government of Maharashtra, only 397768 candidates appeared in MHT CET 2017, details are given in the table below:

Time and duration of MHT CET 2017:
 There will be three papers of one and half hours each. 

  • Part I- Physics Chemistry.- 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. (Candidate appearing for Biology shall continue to sit for part II)
  • Part II- Biology.
  • Part III- Mathematics.

On the day of MHT CET 2017 exam, the candidate has to bring a valid Photo ID proof and printouts of downloaded admit card, application form & Challan printouts.

The Director, Medical Education and Research (DMER), Mumbai will be the Competent Authority for the selection of Health Science degree courses.

The Registrar of Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Science University (MAFSU), Nagpur will be the competent Authority for the selection to veterinary colleges on the basis of MHT CET 2017 Scores.

  • AIPMT Quota: 15% seats in each Government and Municipal Corporation Medical (MBBS) and Dental (BDS) Colleges will be filled through AIPMT 2017.
  • Central Pool Scheme:  Fifteen seats in Govt. Medical Colleges, Three seats in Govt. Dental Colleges and Five seats (BAMS) in Govt.  Ayurved Colleges are filled by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi

MHT CET Eligibility criteria

Nationality: Only Indian National / Person of Indian Origin (POI)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are eligible to participate in the examination.

Kindly Note: Non-Resident India (NRI) are not eligible

Age Limit:

  • For MBBS/BDS: The candidate must be 17 years or older i.e. born on or before December 31, 1999.
  • For BAMS/ BUMS: The candidate must be born on or before October 1, 1999.

Birth Certificate/ Class 10 Certificate/ Class 12 Certificate or School Leaving Certificate will be taken as the valid date of birth proofs.

Medical Fitness:  The candidates need to submit the certificate of medical fitness at the time of preference form filling as because the candidates who are physically fit would be considered as an eligible candidate.


  • The candidates who have successfully passed their Class 10 exam from an institute outside Maharashtra and Class 12 exam from any institute located in Maharashtra are eligible to appear for the examination if they are Domicile of Maharashtra state.
  • Wards of Government of India’s employees who are posted in the state of Maharashtra before the last date of submission of preference are also eligible for admissions irrespective of the fact that from where they passed their qualifying examination.
  • Wards of Government of Maharashtra’s employees who are posted outside the state of Maharashtra are also eligible for admissions depending on the condition that they reported for duty at the designated place before the last date of the preference submission.

Academic Qualifications

  • The candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from an institute located within the state of Maharashtra with Physics, Chemistry, English, Botany and Zoology subjects.
  • Minimum qualifying percentage:
    • For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BUMS: Candidates must have secured not less than 50% marks in the subjects mentioned above in Class 12 Examination (40% marks in case of constitutional reservation with Person with Disability).
    • For B. Sc Nursing: Candidates must have secured obtained not less than aggregate 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at in Class 12 Examination (40% marks in case of the constitutional reservation).
    • For BUMS: Candidate should have passed Class 10 examination from the recognised board with Arabic or Urdu or Persian Language as one of the subjects.

Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in the month of March 2017 can also apply for the examination based on the condition that their result must be declared at the time of filling up of preference form.

The candidates can apply for MHT CET 2017 through online mode only. There is NO offline process of filling the MHT CET 2017 Application Form.

MHT CET Admit Card will be available on the official website of State Common Test Cell only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date.

Admit Card will not be dispatched through the post, so no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

  • For Candidates belonging to General category:   Rs. 800+60 (Bank Commission)
  • For candidates belonging to reserved category:  Rs. 600+60 (Bank Commission)

MHT CET 2017 Application Fees can be paid only via SBI Bank Challan after 48 hours of registration on the website. 

MHT CET Result and Counselling

The MHT CET Result 2017 is expected to be declared in the month of June 2017. The candidates can get the OMR Answer sheet on the website from May 3rd week 2017.

The downloadable mark sheet will be available on the website from July 2017.

  • Candidates will be given admission to the 85% seats in the medical institutes located in the state of Maharashtra who is participating in the exams.
  • The seats will be allocated to the candidates as per the rank which they achieved in the merit list and the availability of the seats in the given subject as per candidate’s category.

  • Total Questions: 200 Multiple Choice Questions, each carrying one mark.
  • Candidates have to mark the answer on the answer sheet with black ink ball point pen only.
  • Negative Marking: There shall be no negative marking
  • Syllabus: Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the MHT CET 2017 will be the same as for the current year for Class 12 Examination.
  • Language of Question Paper: The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu
  • There will be no choice among the questions.
