MHT CET 2017 also known as Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is a single Common Entrance Test conducted by the Government of Maharashtra for Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2017- 2018. MHT CET 2017 is conducted in order to offer admission to BTech/B.E, B.Pharm courses in all the participating Government/Municipal Corporation, Government aided and Private Colleges/Institutions.

Latest UpdateThe State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra is going to open the application window from 7 April to 10 April 2017 again which has been closed earlier on 23 March 2017. Therefore, the candidates who have not filled the application form have the opportunity to fill the same on or before the due date.

  • As per the latest Notification, B.E and B.Tech admissions of 15 percent All India Quota Seats in the Private Unaided Institutions from the Academic Year 2017-18 will be based on JEE Main Paper 1. The vacant seats (if any) in All India Quota will be allotted to the candidates as per the merit list prepared on the basis of MHT CET Score.

MHT CET Eligibility criteria

Nationality: The MHT CET Exam is only for Indian Nationals. Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National candidates are exempted from appearing in MHT CET Exam.

Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in the entrance exam. Birth Certificate/ Class 10 Certificate/ Class 12 Certificate or School Leaving Certificate will be taken as the valid date of birth proofs.

MHT CET Eligibility for BTech Admission

The candidate should have passed in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained minimum required percentage of marks in these subjects taken together.

Female candidates are not eligible for admission to Mining Engineering course.

MHT CET Eligibility for BPharm Admission

The candidate should have passed in Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biotechnology or Biology and obtained at least required percentage of marks in these subjects taken together.

MHT CET Eligibility for Pharm D Admission

The candidate should have passed in Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the Mathematics or Biotechnology or Biology and obtained at least required percentage of marks in these subjects taken together.


Candidates who have passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy from institutes affiliated to State Board and having approval of competent central authority and State Government

Class 12 Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in the month of March 2017 can also apply for the examination based on the condition that their result must be declared at the time of filling up of preference form.

Maharashtra Domicile for appearing in MHT CET

  • The candidates who have successfully passed their Class 10 exam from an institute outside Maharashtra and Class 12 exam from any institute located in Maharashtra are eligible to appear for the examination if they are Domicile of Maharashtra state.
  • Wards of Government of India’s employees who are posted in the state of Maharashtra before the last date of submission of preference are also eligible for admissions irrespective of the fact that from where they passed their qualifying examination.
  • Wards of Government of Maharashtra’s employees who are posted outside the state of Maharashtra are also eligible for admissions depending on the condition that they reported for duty at the designated place before the last date of the preference submission.

The candidates can apply for MHT CET 2017 through online mode only. There is NO offline process of filling the MHT CET 2017 Application Form.Candidates may apply through online mode by visiting the official website. The application process has started.

MHT CET Admit Card will be available on the official website of State Common Test Cell only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date. Admit Card will not be dispatched through the post, so no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

The MHT CET Result 2017 is expected to be declared on or before 4 June 2017. MHT CET Exam pattern

  • Total Questions: There will be 50 questions each in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology. It will be Multiple Choice Questions
  • Candidates have to mark the answer on the answer sheet with black ink ball point pen only.
  • There shall be no negative marking
  • Syllabus: Syllabi of Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the MHT CET 2017 will be the same as for the current year for Class 12 Examination of Maharashtra HSC Board.
  • The language of Question Paper: The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Mathematics paper will be in English Language only.
  • The candidates seeking admission to Engineering course should appear in both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
  • The candidate seeking admission to Pharmacy / Pharm. D. degree course it is mandatory that the candidate must appear for Paper 2 as well as in Paper 1 and/or Paper 3.

Time and duration of MHT CET 2017

 There will be three papers of one and half hours each. 

  • Part I- Mathematics - 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 
  • Part II- Physics Chemistry - 12:30 p.m. to 2 pm 
  • Part III- Biology - 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m

On the day of MHT CET 2017 exam, the candidate has to bring a valid Photo ID proof and printouts of downloaded admit card.
