Calcutta University Admission Eligibility criteria
A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination are eligible to take admission in three-year UG courses like B.A/B.Sc/B.Com.(Honours, General and Major) and B.Mus. (Honours and General) provide having he/she has also passed in English.
Students from Vocational Education: Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Vocational examination conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A. (General/Major) 1st year Course of Studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division only.
Admission to B.Com: Candidates who have passed the HSE in Business & Commerce shall also be eligible for admission to the B.Com. (Major) 1st year Course of Studies.
Students who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or its equivalent from the All India Boards/Councils (i.e. CBSE, ISC and National Institute of Open Schooling) need not submit the Migration Certificate for getting Registration under this University.
For Admission in Honours
General & Other Category: Both the aggregate and subject conditions have to be fulfilled by the Students as given in the table.
SC/ ST candidates must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate OR 40% marks in the subject / related subjects
Related Subject studied in the Previous Exam
For all the courses with Hons Except B.Music
Minimum 55% in case aggregate marks condition is not fulfilled.
Minimum 50% in case aggregate marks condition is not fulfilled.
When the candidate has not studied the related subject in Qualifying Exam
50% marks in the aggregate provided all other clauses are satisfied.
In a case of B.Mus.(Hons.) - 45% marks in aggregate
40% in case of SC/ST

Some Special Condition for Admission in Honours Course
Non-Eligibility The candidates who have taken a leap of 5 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination are not allowed for admission.
Calcutta University Admission Application form and Admit Card
The candidates need to apply for either of the two forms, that is Form A and Form B.
Form A: Applicable for students applying for the undergraduate course having passed their 10+2 level Examinations from Boards WBCHSE / CBSE / ISC / NIOS / RABINDRA MUKTA VIDYALAYA.
Form B: Students applying for undergraduate courses of studies having passed 10+2 level examination from boards other than WBCHSE/CBSE/ISC/NIOS/RABINDRA MUKTA VIDYALAYA, wherever necessary (along with a copy of Equivalence Certificate obtainable from C.U, wherever necessary).
Documents to be submitted
Migration Certificate in original should be submitted along with this form for Migrating Students.
Copies of all Passed Mark Sheets, Admit Cards & Certificates of the previous qualifying examination(s) for admission to the U.G. Courses duly attested by the Head of the Institutions with Office Seal.
Certificate and Mark Sheets of different parts of Bachelor’s Degree Examination, for admission to the Post Graduate Courses, duly attested by the Secretary /Asstt. Secretary of the concerned Faculty Council of this University with office seal.
Mark Sheets and Certificate of the Master Degree Examinations and Permission Letter issued by the Registrar's Department for admission to Ph.D. Course/ another Post-Doctoral course, duly attested by the Supervisor and the Head of the respective department with seal.
Attested Copy of office permission, if any, in respect of admission into all other courses
Attested copy of C.U. Registration Certificate for revalidation of the Registration in case of previously registered and subsequently migrated students.

Duly filled Application form along with attested copies of Mark Sheet and Photograph of the candidate are to be submitted from 2 pm to 6 pm at the office of the Dept. of languages before 1st week of September 2018 (Without late fee) and 3rd week of September 2018 (with late fee).
