AIIMS MBBS Exam Analysis 2018

For the first time, AIIMS MBBS entrance exam is being held on two different days in two different shifts. There were a total of 200 objective type questions, and the questions were based on topics like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Knowledge and Logical Thinking. AIIMS MBBS 2018 Exam Analysis - 27 May

  • Overall the paper was moderate 
  • Students rated Physics as the toughest section of all
  • Due to lengthy and complicated calculations, Physics was tough
  • Biology was the easiest
  • General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Chemistry was of moderate level

  • After the conclusion of the first shift, most students agreed that the Physics paper was very tough. Most of the questions in this section were complicated and lengthy.
  • Also, in Physics, most questions were based on Thermodynamics
  • Questions in Biology was the easiest
  • Most questions in Biology were based on Class 11 and 12 NCERT textbooks
  • Questions in Chemistry were of a moderate level
  • Majority of the questions in Chemistry were on Coordination Chemistry
  • General Knowledge and Logical Reasoning questions were moderate
  • Aptitude and Logical Thinking was also moderate and there were questions on topics such as profit and loss

AIIMS MBBS 2018 Exam Analysis by Coaching Institutes

Sh. Brajesh Maheshwari, Director of Allen Career Institute found that the paper was average. The questions from Physics was confusing and students faced difficulty to solve the same. Apart from this, Biology and Chemistry was moderate. 

"A total of 200 questions were asked in the exam. In this, 60 questions each were from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. This included 40 objective type questions and 20 questions from Assertion-Reason. Other 20 questions were asked from general knowledge and aptitude." said Sh. Brajesh

Physics - Sh. Brajesh Maheshwari said that the Physics was a bit difficult for the students. In this paper, the students used the screen calculator in some questions. At the same time, they had to use logic in few questions and also faced some creative questions. This paper was more time-consuming as this paper contained more objective type logical questions. Students who did the conceptual study did not face any problem, the questions from Reason-Assertion were easy for them.

 Biology -  Students found Biology paper very easy. The whole paper was NCERT-based. Some questions were asked through a diagram. Botany and Zoology were asked equally. Only a few questions were confusing.

Chemistry - The difficulty level of the questions were average. The language of some questions was so confusing the students found it so difficult to understand the logic to be applied. The entire paper was according to NCERT course. Creative questions were asked from Assertion-Reason, which were time-consuming.

AIIMS MBBS Result 2018

It is expected that the result will be announced on 18 June 2018. After the announcement of the AIIMS MBBS result 2018, a merit list will be prepared which will contain the roll number of qualified candidates. There will be a total of four merit list, which are –

  • Common Merit List
  • SC candidate’s merit list
  • ST candidate’s merit list
  • OBC candidate’s merit list
