NSO Syllabus 2019 for the Science Olympiad Foundation National Science Olympiad is comprised of various topics across various sections for each class. The NSO Exam is conducted for the students studying in Class 1 to 12. For Class 1 to 4, there will be 35 questions and for Class 5 to 12, there will be 50 questions. Up to class 10, there will be sections like logical reasoning, Science, and achievers section while, for Class 11 and 12, it contains questions from the Physics & Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology, and achievers section. The students will have 1 hour to complete the NSO Exam. NSO is conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation SOF, which is a Nonprofit organization. NSO Syllabus 2019 – Preparation Tips
Here we have provided some important tips to prepare for the NSO Exam:
- Know the Exam: It is very important to know about the exam pattern and exam structure before start preparing for the exam. One can download the sample papers from the official website of SOF and practice with that.
- NSO Syllabus: The NSO Syllabus is totally based on the syllabus prescribed by the CBSE, ICSE and other state boards. It is important to cover the NCERT books thoroughly while preparing for the exam.
- Know the Questions type: The questions in Olympiads are designed to test the logical and observational skills of the students rather than the conceptual knowledge. So, the students must know about the type of questions and difficulty level of the exam and also opt for enhanced study materials from good publishers.
- Study Material: There is a wide range of books available such as MTG Books on various topics which are available on official website, E-Quiz, E-books, Olympiads’ Books of Reasoning for the preparation for the reasoning section, and other books for preparation for the logical & reasoning section.
- NSO Sample Papers: By solving the sample papers or previous year question papers, it will give a fair idea of the exam pattern and questions asked in the NSO exam. It will also help in improving the speed for finishing the exam in the given time. The NSO sample papers can be obtained from the official website for every class.
NSO Syllabus Level 2
NSO Level 2 exam will be conducted in the February 2019. The NSO Syllabus for Level 2 will be the same as for the NSO Syllabus for level-1. However, the difficulty level for the NSO Level 2 will be quite high as compare to the NSO Level 1 exam. The NSO Level 2 will be comprehensive and tougher than the Level 2 National Science Olympiad exam. One can get good rank easily by good preparation and keen dedication. The students can do their preparation for NSO Level 2 with NSO Level 2 sample papers and previous year question papers.
NSO Syllabus 2019 – Important Points
- Questions of level 1 of SOF NSO Olympiad will be 60% from the current class syllabus and 40% from the previous class syllabus.
For example, Class 7 NSO exam there will be 60% questions from Class 7 syllabus and 40% questions from the syllabus of Class 6.
- Questions of level 2 National Science Olympiad exam will be from the current class syllabus only.
- Questions in ACHIEVERS SECTION in SOF NSO Syllabus will be from the current class syllabus only.
