KVPY Exam Pattern 2021: Candidates who wish to appear for KVPY Exam 2021 must check the KVPY Exam Pattern to understand the structure of the KVPY exam. The KVPY Exam will be conducted in a Computer Based Test in Hindi and English language. To complete the KVPY Exam 2021, 3 hours will be allotted. As per the KVPY exam pattern 2021, the question booklet will be divided into two parts i.e. Part 1 and Part 2. There are 4 sections in each part, which are - Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. There are three streams under which KVPY Exam is conducted, which are SA, SB and SX. For each stream, the KVPY test pattern will be different. The SA Stream is for Class 11 students, the SX stream for Class 12 Students and the SB Stream for first-year students of any undergraduate program in basic sciences such as B.Sc, B.S, B.Stat, B.Math, Int. KVPY Exam Pattern 2021 - Stream SA

As mentioned earlier, KVPY Stream SA Question Paper has two parts: Part 1 and Part 2. There are four sections in Part 1 and Part 2: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For the Stream SA, Part 1 consists of a total 60 questions of 1 mark each and Part 2 has a total of 20 questions of 2 marks each. It is compulsory to attempt all the questions. KVPY Exam Pattern - Stream SX/SB

The KVPY Exam Pattern is same for Stream SX/SB. The question paper has two parts: Part 1 and Part 2. In KVPY Stream SB/SX, Part 1 contains a total of 80 questions of 1 mark each. The candidates can choose to attempt any 3 sections. In part 2, there are 40 questions of 2 marks each. Here, candidates can choose to attempt any 2 sections. KVPY Test Pattern - Important Points

Students can check the important points related to KVPY test pattern 2021.

KVPY Exam Mode: KVPY Aptitude test will be conducted through online mode (Computer Based Test) 
Date & Shift:  KVPY Exam will be conducted on 3 November 2021. The timings are 

  • Stream SA - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Stream SB/SX - 2 pm to 5 pm 

The medium of Question Paper: The question paper will be asked both in English & Hindi Language.
Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Type Questions
KVPY Exam Duration: The duration for KVPY Exam is 3 hours
KVPY Total Marks: The question paper will consist of 100 marks.

KVPY Marking Scheme

As mentioned in the KVPY exam pattern, the question paper of Stream SA & Stream SX/SB consists of 100 marks. In PART 1 of both the stream, one mark is given for every correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. In PART 2 of Stream SA & Stream SB/SX, two marks are given for each correct answer & there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for every incorrect answer.

KVPY Syllabus

The KVPY Exam focuses on the understanding and analytical ability of the student than factual knowledge. There is no notification regarding the syllabus for the KVPY Written test. However, the students can study the NCERT syllabus up to class 11, 12 and 1st year of B.Sc, B.S, B.Stat, B.Math, Int. M.Sc, M.S. as applicable. KVPY, Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, is a national Scholarship programme conducted by IISC Bangalore and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
