About CBSE Group Mathematics Olympiad 2016
- CBSE Group Mathematical Olympiad 2016 is conducted by CBSE along with different organisations to identify, encourage, promote and nurture the talent in mathematics at state, regional, national and international level.
- CBSE was accorded a status of an Independent Group in 1997 by NBHM for conducting the Maths Olympiad in the country and since then it has been conducting the olympiad ever year.
- The CBSE Group Mathematics Olympiad will be held on October 16, 2016, between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM
- Top 30 students selected in the test will get a chance to participate in the Indian National Mathematics Olympiad.
- Students selected in Indian National Mathematics Olympiad would represent India in 58th International Mathematics Olympiad to be held in Rio De Janeiro,Brazil.

CBSE Group Mathematics Olympiad 2016 Reward
- From 2016 there will be a reservation of 5 Girls seats that will be selected apart from the existing merit list of 30 students.
- The 30 students and 5 Girls selected in the test will get a chance to participate in the Indian National Mathematics Olympiad.
- Students shortlisted in Indian National Mathematics Olympiad would represent India in 58th International Mathematics Olympiad to be held in Rio De Janeiro,Brazil.
CBSE Group Mathematics Olympiad 2016 Application form and Process
- The head of the participating schools will forward the names of the selected students to the state coordinator(venue school) nominated by the Board. The selected candidates should be bonafide students of the school/institution.
- Personal Details & Mark Sheet: The information about the selected students including name, father’s name, date of birth, school address, class, residential address, total marks obtained in the class one lower than in which he/she is studying, should be sent to the state coordinator along with the fee before the last date.
CBSE Group Mathematics Olympiad 2016 - Registration Fee
- Every sponsored candidate shall remit a sum of Rs. 100 as entry fee for the examination.
- The fee of the candidates should be forwarded by the principal of the participating school to the venue principal (centre) in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of the principal of the venue school.
The fee along with desired information about the selected students should reach the state coordinator by September 5, 2016. In no case should the fee or documents be sent to the Board.
CBSE Group Mathematics Olympiad 2016 - Admit Card
- It should be issued by the participating school should have complete information about the students.
- The admit card should also carry the signature of the student and his/her latest photograph duly attested by the principal.
CBSE Group Mathematics Olympiad 2016 Selection Process
- The five students to be sponsored by the school should be selected strictly on the basis of a screening test conducted by the school itself for appearing in the CBSE Group Maths Olympiad 2016
- The answer sheets of candidates who appear in CBSE GMO will be evaluated at CBSE Headquarters. CBSE will select a maximum of 30 candidates strictly in order of merit and 5 Girls apart from the 30 students on merit basis.
- Only the selected candidates will be informed about the result and will be eligible to appear in the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad conducted by NBHM.
- The name of the selected candidates will be communicated to respective schools as well as NBHM for further necessary action
Maths Olympiad Exam Date- October 16, 2016
The duration of the examination will be 3 hours (1:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
