DPSRU is all set to launch the first of its kind course in the 2018-19 academic sessions. Keenly focusing on sports and sports pharmacy, the Academy of Sports Sciences and Research Management (ASSRM) which is a part of DPSRU will begin the postgraduate courses in sports science. This is a great initiative by the Delhi Pharmaceutical Science and Research University. The newly introduced courses will help to bring world-class skill development courses in the field of sports pharmacy. Currently, the University offers BSc in sports science but now the students will have the option to pursue Diploma as well as MSc and PhD in Sports Science.

Earlier the university only offered BSc in Sports Science and the strength of the university is expected to go up from 1223 to 1500 students per academic year.

The courses to be introduced from the session 2018-19 are given in the table. 

PG 

  • MSc in Sports Science, Sports Digitalization

Diploma

  • Diplomas in Sports Pharmacy and Sports Management

Ph.D

  • Ph.D in Sports Science

Admission in DPSRU for UG & PG Courses

The admission process for the UG and PG courses will start on different dates. The admission for UG course will begin after 10 days of the announcement of Higher Secondary Results by CBSE/ ICSE. However, the admission process for PG courses will begin 10 days after the announcement of BPharma Results in DPSRU. The last date for the receipt of applications will be 20 days after the admission process starts

What the director of ASSRM has to say?

According to the director of ASSRM, Anshul Bagai, the growth of various sports in the country is not at the desired pace because of lack of facilities and proper scientific backup. “The Indian sports ecosystem needs experts who are associated with each discipline in terms of sports pharmacy to improve the present situation. This will help us achieve a better sports culture.”

  • According to the sources, the 1223 students will likely to go up to 1500 this session.
