About XAT 2019

XAT 2019 or Xavier Aptitude Test will be conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur for admission to the management programmes of the various XAMI BSchools and over 150 management institutes. XAT will be conducted online across more than 50 cities in India and around 2 cities located abroad on 6 January 2019. XAT registration has started from 20 August and the application form is available online. Candidates must apply by 30 November 2018 in order to obtain XAT admit card 2019 and appear for the test. However, before applying for the XAT exam, applicants must make sure that they have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

XAT 2019 will be held for admission various programmes such as Human Resource Management (HRM), Business Management (BM), and General Management Program (GMP) -For Working Professionals.

XAT Registration 2019  will be done in online mode only also, the XAT application fee can either be paid via online mode. For XAT Registration, applicants must make sure that they have a valid email ID and a mobile number since all the communications regarding XAT admission procedure will be done through the number and ID only. The XAT 2019 application will be available online and candidates can follow the provided below to apply for the test.

How to apply for XAT 2019?

  • Step – 1: Candidates need to get registered the test by clicking on the link provided below
  • Step – 2: After the registration process, candidates will receive the login credential to log in and access the application form
  • Step – 3: Now, they will have to enter their details like personal, qualification, contact details, etc.
  • Step – 4: Upload photograph and signature as per the specifications.
  • Step – 5: Pay XAT Application Fees to complete the application process.

Note: In XAT Registration, the details cannot be changed once they are filled.

Once the candidates have submitted their XAT registration cum application form, they won't be able to make any changes. However, while filling the form, if aspirants are unable to complete it in one go, then they can click on the 'SAVE & NEXT' button and save the incomplete form and continue filling it later. As mentioned above, candidates are required to upload images of their photograph and signature in the application form of XAT 2019. While uploading these images, applicants must make sure that they are as per the specifications.

XAT 2019 Eligibility criteria

It is important for the management aspirants appearing for XAT 2019 to be aware of the eligibility norms of the test. Failing to meet any of the XAT eligibility criteria will lead to cancellation of candidature. Applicants must note that the XAT 2019 eligibility norms will vary with the category of the candidates. To know more about XAT eligibility, check the points given below

  • Age Limit: There is no age limit to appear for the XAT Exam. XLRI does not restrict any candidate regarding age limit to seek admission to the associated MBA XAT colleges.
  • Qualification: The candidates should have a 3 years duration bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or college. The candidates who are appearing in the final year are also eligible to apply for the XAT 2019.
  • NRI/Foreign Candidates: NRI And Foreign candidates can also apply but with a valid GMAT Score obtained by them.

Note: Every XAT Score accepting college has their own criteria for shortlisting candidates, Applicants are advised to check their eligibility criteria before application submission.

XAT 2019 Fees

The XAT 2019 application fee has been announced. The XAT registration fee can be paid online and the amount is mentioned on the points below -

  • XAT Application Fee: Rs 1700
  • XAT Application with Late Fee: Rs 2000
  • For each XLRI Program (additional): Rs.300
  • XLRI Programs with Late Fee: Rs. 500

The applicants who are interested in XLRI program(s) will have to pay an additional fee of Rs. 300 each. If registrations are done after the prescribed last date, then the applicants will have to pay Rs. 200 (including late fee) for registration and for selecting additional XLRI Program they have to pay Rs. 500 for each program.

XAT Admit Card 2019

XAT Admit Card 2019 will be available to download from here. The candidates who have duly filled and submitted the XAT 2019 application form would be able to download the admit card from here or from the official website. XAT Admit Card 2019, will be available online only and applicants must note that it is an important document. On the day of XAT 2019 exam, candidates must make sure that they carry the admit card to the exam centre along with a valid photo ID. If a candidate fails to carry the XAT admit card to the exam centre, then he or she won't be allowed to enter the exam venue and write the test.

The admit card of XAT exam will contain details about the candidate, the address of the exam centre, timing of the test, and other rules and regulation of the test. Even after the conduct of the test, applicants are advised to keep the admit card safe until the conclusion of the counselling rounds.

XAT 2019 Exam Centres

XAT 2019 Exam will be conducted in various exam centres in around 47 Cities across India and in 2 international locations i.e. Dubai and Kathmandu. Some of the main cities are like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Noida, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Varanasi, Udaipur, Kanpur, Dehradun etc. Candidates can select the XAT test centres while filling the application form. During the registration cum application process of XAT 2019, candidates are advised to select a test city as per their convenience. On the basis of the selected city, XAT exam centres will be allotted. On the day of the test, candidates must reach XAT exam centres as per the schedule along with the admit card and a valid photo ID.

XAT 2019 Exam pattern

  • As per the official website of XAT 2019, the entrance test will be held online.
  • The duration of the test is 3 hours 30 minutes.
  • The exam will contain 100 questions 
  • It will be divided into two parts.

XAT 2019 Negative Marking

All the questions will be of equal marks in all 3 sections. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer marked by the candidate.

Other than that 0.05 marks will be deducted if the candidates left the questions blank or un-attempted. This condition will be applicable to more than 13 questions left blank or unattended.

XAT 2019 Syllabus

It is important for aspirants to become familiar with the syllabus of XAT 2019. With the help of XAT Syllabus 2019, candidates will get to know about the various topics and sub-topics on which the questions will be based. Once the aspirants are aware of the syllabus for XAT 2019 exam, then they won't be wasting time on unnecessary topics. XLRI Jamshedpur will be prescribing the syllabus for XAT 2019. XAT 2019 Result

The XAT selection procedure will contain two simple steps 

  • XAT exam
  • Pre-admission rounds i.e. Group Discussions, Personal Interview, Group Activity and Written Ability Test

The Xavier Aptitude Test is the first step of the XAT selection process. The candidates who have obtained the minimum marks as prescribed by the participating colleges, they will be shortlisted for the counselling rounds of these institutes. The second selection process i.e the pre-admission rounds of these participating colleges, shortlisted candidates are required to visit these colleges and take part in the GD PI and other selection rounds. Only after the conclusion of the pre-admission rounds, the final selection result will be announced.

The candidates will be able to check their XAT Result 2019 from this page. The XAT Result will be available online and to download the score card, candidates are required to enter their XAT ID and date of birth. Based on candidate's XAT 2019 result, they will be shortlisted for the counselling rounds of the various participating institutes. The XAT scorecard will contain the following details - 

  • XAT exam details
  • XAT Sectional percentage and percentiles
  • Total XAT percentage and percentile

Note: The exam body will send a hard copy of XAT scorecard 2019 to the registered address of the candidates.

XAT 2019 Cutoff

The cutoff scores of XAT are the minimum marks set by the participating institutes (XAMI and other BSchools) after the announcement of the result. Candidates who have appeared for XAT 2019 must make sure that they have qualified in the test and have obtained the minimum cut off scores. Candidates must note that the XAT Cutoff 2019 will vary with the category of candidate and participating institute. Also, the XAT cut off scores will be different for each section of the question paper. The candidates who have obtained the required XAT cutoff scores will be eligible to take part in the pre-admission rounds of the participating institutes i.e. Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Written Ability Test.
