The candidates belonging to Tripura state will now be able to choose Bengali as a question paper medium in NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test). NEET Joint Secretary & OSD has approved the concerned application regarding question paper language. Tripura candidates, who are desirous to opt Bengali as a medium, will be now able to choose Bengali as a medium from this year. The candidates, who have already filled their application form for NEET 2017, will be extended the facility of changing their medium to Bengali.
Previously, Tripura Health Minister Badal Choudhury wrote a letter to Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda to intervene to approve Bengali language as a medium of language in NEET. He wrote that the most of the Tripura students have Bengali as their first language and they also use Bengali as a medium of study and converse.
Now the candidates belong to Tripura will have the following facility:
- The candidates who opted Agartala as their examination centre for NEET 2017 will be now able to choose Bengali as a medium.
- After issuing this notification, Tripura state candidates who are going to fill the NEET application form can now opt examination centre Agartala to West Bengal.
- The candidates, who have filled the NEET application form and want to make changes like changing examination medium and examination centre, will be issued a separate notification on the official website of the CBSE. Thereafter, the candidates will be allowed to make changes in their application form.
- The candidates who have submitted their NEET application form through the offline medium will not be allowed to make changes in their application form under any circumstances.
The bonafide students from the state will be offered total 73 MBBS Seats available in Tripura Medical College and Dr BR Ambedkar Teaching Hospital and rest 27 seats will be allotted to the candidates from the all over India merit list.
