International Biology Olympiad Winners

There are two stages before appearing in International Biology Olympiad (IBO). The first level which is National Search Examination in Biology (NSEB) is conducted by Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) along with the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences (ATBS). After stage 1 selections, Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) takes up the charges till the end.

A journey from NSEB to International Biology Olympiad

The journey to International Biology Olympiad has lots of hurdles. Candidates have to go through various processes before appearing in the same. The first stage of this process is National Search Examination Biology and the candidates who qualify are eligible to appear in India National Biology Olympiad (INBO) which is the second stage. The students who qualify INBO are selected for Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in Biology and out of them, 4 students are selected who are trained for International Biology Olympiad.

International Biology Olympiad in numbers

Around 34000 candidates applied for National Search Examination Biology (NSEB), and around 300 were selected for India National Biology Olympiad (IBNO). Further, 40 were selected for Orientation cum Selection Camp in Biology where only 4 brightest students were chosen to represent India in 28th International Biology Olympiad. These 4 students were trained for two weeks at HBCSE camp in Mumbai before International Biology Olympiad.

Team MotaChashma wishes them all the best for their achievements and for making India proud.
