NEET Application Form 2018 - Aadhaar No Longer Mandatory, Registration Date Extended!

NEET Application Form 2018 has started from 8 February 2018 for which the application would be accepted through online mode. It is compulsory that aadhaar details should match with the details entered by the applicants. The candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school records. This year the NEET Exam will also be conducted in URDU language. The candidates who are willing to appear in NEET 2018 must apply online before the due date. The last date to fill the NEET Application Form 2018 is 12 March 2018. The candidates are therefore suggested to fill and submit the form on or before the deadline.

  • From this year Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have joined 15% All India Quota Scheme. Now only Jammu and Kashmir state are out of the 15% All India Quota Scheme and these students have to submit the self-declaration as per the format along with the NEET Application Form.
  • The only proof of submission of fee for NEET Exam is the generation of the confirmation page. Deducting of fee from the account of the candidate or their family is not a permissible proof of payment of the fee. No Postcard size photo is required for submission of NEET Application form.

Latest Update-  Last date to apply online for NEET is extended to 12 March 2018.  

  • As per latest notification from CBSE on 8 March, the candidates are allowed to apply for NEET 2018 without Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment Number. Candidates can use alternatively use Ration Card, Passport, Bank Account No. or other valid Government ID (Such as Driving License, Voter ID etc).

According to the Ministry of Ayush, it is notified that the admission in BHMS, BAMS and BUMS will be based on NEET scores. Ministry of AYUSH has requested all the state government to admit students in AYUSH Undergraduate courses through NEET.

Particulars to be filled in the Online Application Form

  • Name as per Aadhaar Card
  • Date of Birth as per Aadhaar Card
  • Gender as per Aadhaar Card
  • Mother's Name as given in High School Certificate
  • Father's Name as given in High School Certificate

Aadhar Card to fill the NEET Application Form

Aadhaar number is required for submission of Application Form of NEET (UG) 2018. The use of Aadhaar for the candidates of NEET (UG) 2018 will be beneficial in an accuracy of the candidate’s details. Aadhar Card will also help in determining the identities of the candidates at the examination centres in a useful and hassle-free manner.

Aadhaar prevents the need for producing multiple documents to prove the identity of the candidates. While filling the application form, the following information should be filled according to the Aadhar Card.

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender

However, the candidates who have passed or appearing in Class 12 examination from the states of J&K, Assam & Meghalaya need to enter the passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Govt. identity number provided in lieu of Aadhar Card details.

Steps to fill NEET 2018 Application Form 

The step by step guidance to fill the NEET Application Form is given below which will help the candidates to ignore the mistakes while filling the application form. The candidates are advised to follow each and every step carefully

Steps to Fill the Application Form

STEP 1 (Registration): The first step of filling the NEET application form is registration in which the candidates have to register themselves on the official website of the NEET. While registering themselves the candidates need to fill the following details:

  • Name of the candidate
  • Date of Birth
  • Mobile Number
  • Email Id etc.

STEP 2 (Fill Application Form): After registration, the candidates will receive the provisional registration number which will be used to fill the further application form.In this section of filling the application form, the candidates need to select the following:

  • Medium of Question Paper
  • Choice of examination centre
  • Academic details of class 10 and 12 etc.

STEP 3 (Upload images): In this section, the candidates need to upload the photograph and the signature. The candidates need to upload both the images keeping the following things in mind:

  • Upload the scanned copies of the Photo in JPG format and Image size should be between 10 KB and 100 KB
  • Upload Scanned signatures in JPG format and Image size should be between 3 KB and 20 KB

STEP 4 (Payment):  In this step, the candidates need to pay the application fee. NEET application fees can be paid either by using the Payment Gateway facility or through E-challan. The candidate can make the payment through the desired mode and keep the receipt’s copy. 

STEP 5 (Print Confirmation Page): At last, the candidates need to review the filled in application and have to submit the application form. And in final steps, the candidates need to take the printout of the confirmation page after successful payment of the fee. The candidate has to take at least three printouts of the application form for future correspondence.

Payment of the NEET Application Fees

The candidates filling the NEET application form can make the payment of the same from any of the two methods given below. The application fees should be paid only once.

  • Online Payment Gateway: Application fee can be paid using any Debit/ Credit Card by using the facility of online payment Gateway of Syndicate Bank/ HDFC Bank/ ICICI Bank/ State Bank of India and through the e-wallet of Common Services Center.
  • E-Challan: NEET Application Fee can be paid through e-Challan by depositing the application fee in any of the Branch of Syndicate Bank/ HDFC Bank/ ICICI Bank/ State Bank of India. The e-challan can be generated by filling the application form.

NEET Application Form Submission

NEET Application form 2018 has to be submitted through online only, there is no procedure to fill the offline application form. No printout of the application form or any other document has to be sent to the conducting body. However, the candidates are advised to take three printouts of the application form and fee receipt and keep it safe till the admission.

The candidates must note that after submission of the application form it cannot be withdrawn. Claims for the refund of application fee will not be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates need to know that if a candidate submits more than one NEET Application Form, his/her entry for the application submission will be cancelled.

NEET 2018 Application form Correction

Any correction pertaining to the photograph, the signature, and the right-hand index finger impression will be intimated through e-mail and SMS. The candidates can make the required changes by logging into their account. The candidates will not be allowed to make any other corrections in the NEET Application form. So the following fields can be corrected in the application form

Filling NEET Application Form through Common Service Centres

Candidates from the urban areas are familiar with the technology of filling and submitting the application form online. However, the children belong to rural areas who are not familiar with this kind of technology or find it difficult to submit the online application due to various constraints. There are more than 2.4 Lac service centres across India.

Application Instructions for Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir Students

The candidates from these states who have either passed Class 12 or are appearing in Class12 from any of these three states and do not have Aadhar card should enter passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other Govt. Issued Id Card should select the NEET Exam Centre in their respective state only.

Application Instructions for Jammu and Kashmir Students

The students from these states are not eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats as these states have opted out of the All India Quota Scheme. If the students from these states claim eligibility in the All India 15% Quota Seats then they have to submit a Self Declaration which will be generated and printed automatically with the NEET Confirmation page. The declaration states that these candidates are not domicile of J&K as the case may be and are not eligible for MBBS/BDS admission in these states.

NEET Application Form FAQs 2018

Do the candidates have to submit the confirmation page to CBSE?

 No, the candidates do not have to submit the print out of the confirmation page to CBSE. Rather they should keep a printout of the confirmation page for future use by them. The candidate should also keep proof of payment with them. The NEET confirmation page copy will be mailed to the candidates by CBSE.

Does the candidate have to fill the NEET Application form in one go?

No, the NEET application form can be saved, and candidates can fill them anytime before the due date by logging in with their username and password.

What if the candidates forget to pay the NEET Application Fee after successful registration?

The candidature of the applicants will not be accepted even if they have paid filled the NEET application form correctly and the registration number has also been generated for them. The payment of NEET application fee is compulsory for acceptance of the NEET application form.

I am studying in Class 12, what code should I fill in Qualifying Exam

The candidates who would be clearing Class 12 exam in 2018 have to fill Code 1 in the qualifying exam.

I have enrolled for Aadhar Card but have not received it. Can I fill NEET Application form?

If you have applied for the Aadhar Card at the designated centre and have not received your Aadhar Number, then you can enter your 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID (including slash) printed on the Aadhaar enrolment slip at that is available on the Registration Slip given by the Aadhar Enrolment Centre.
