JEE Main Result 2018 Declared - Check JEE Score, Rank & Toppers

JEE Main Result 2018 for Paper 1 has been declared on 30 April 2018. Candidates who have appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2018 on 8, 15 & 16 April in pen & paper and computer-based mode can check their JEE Main 2018 result in online only. JEE Main paper 2 (B.Arch) result will be declared on 31 May 2018. To check the result of JEE Main 2018, aspirants must log in using the roll number and date of birth. The to download JEE Main Result is available on this page. Through JEE Main result 2018, candidates can check their subject-wise marks, total marks, All India Rank and category rank. Along with that, the cutoff score and qualifying status for JEE Advanced have also been made available in JEE Main 2018 result for paper I. After the declaration of paper 1 result, top 2,31,024 candidates have qualified for JEE Advanced.  This year, a total of 11,35,084 candidates registered for JEE Main, of which only 2,31,024 aspirants managed to qualify. Photocopy of JEE Main OMR and Calculation Sheet

CBSE has decided to provide the OMR sheet and calculation sheet of JEE Main 2018 to the aspirants who appeared in JEE Main. Candidates have to pay Rs. 500 to get the OMR and calculation sheet. The last date to get the calculation and response sheet is 31 May 2018. 

The application form must be filled by aspirants for the issuance of OMR and calculation sheet. In the application form, candidates must be mentioned their roll number, name and address carefully. The prescribed fee can be paid to the office through Bank Draft which should be paid in favour of 'Secretary, CBSE', payable to Delhi/New Delhi issued by any scheduled bank. 

The roll number and name should also be mentioned on the backside of the demand draft. This application form and bank draft must be sent to the following address by speed post or by personally.

How will JEE Main Score be Calculated?

For calculation of the result of JEE Main 2018 or to get the JEE scores obtained in the test, candidates can use the answer key. With the help of JEE Main answer key, aspirants can compare their marked answers with the JEE official answer key. Thereafter, using the formula mentioned below, they can examine their JEE scores.


Total marks = Number of correct answers * 4 - The number of incorrect answers * 1


 JEE Main Rank 2018 - Download Online

JEE Main Rank will be calculated on the basis of JEE Main Score. The candidate will get an All India Rank as well as the All India Category Rank. Separate Rank lists will be prepared for admission to B.E./ B. Tech. And B. Arch/ B. Planning (in institutions other than IITs). JEE Main Rank will be available on the JEE Score Card. JEE Main 2018 Rank Card indicating All India Rank and Category Rank with total marks and marks in each paper will be available on JEE (Main) website after the declaration of result.

Calculating JEE Main Rank –The actual scores calculated in JEE Main 2018 result will be used to determine All India Rank. The scores secured in the engineering entrance examination will directly affect JEE Main rank. In other words, higher marks will lead better rank in JEE Main. If the rank of two or more candidates will be equal, then, the authority will follow the inter-se merit or tie-breaking procedure.

JEE Main Rank List for Paper 1 - Tie Breaking Mechanism

Inter-se merit list for institutions other than IITs will be decided in the following order for JEE Main Rank List for B.E. /B. Tech. Admission 2018.  Inter se merit is used when two or more candidates obtain same marks in JEE Main.

  1. Marks in Mathematics - Candidate obtaining higher marks in Mathematics will be given better rank as compared to others.
  2. Marks in Physics – Higher JEE Mains 2018 marks in Physics will lead to a better rank in the merit list.
  3. A number of positive & negative marks - The ratio of positive marks and negative marks secured by the candidates will be taken into consideration. Candidate having a higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
  4. The same rank will be allotted - If the resolution is not possible after the above-mentioned criterion, candidates will be given the same rank.

Re-evaluation scope of JEE Main Result

There is no provision for re-evaluation of JEE Main result. However, candidates can download the official answer key and match their OMR responses with the solutions marked in it. In case, aspirants are not satisfied with any of the answer, he/she can challenge the official JEE Main answer key. To challenge the key, an application form must be submitted along with the proof and amount of Rs. 1000 per question. The challenge of answer key can be done only till 11:59 pm of 27 April 2018. The fee for objection against an answer can be paid in online mode through credit/debit cards or net banking.

The fee paid by candidates is non-refundable. However, if the challenge will be accepted by the authority experts, the fee paid will be refunded. Thus, candidates are advised to pay the objection fee with their own credit/debit card or net banking.

The decision made by CBSE/JAB will be considered final and no communication, thereafter will not be entertained.

JEE Main Result 2018 Accepting Institutes

  • NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/SFTIs/Others based on JosAA Counselling - Only the All India Rank (AIR) is used for admissions through Central Seat Allocation Board to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/SFTIs/Others, while other ranks are for information purposes.The All India Rank (AIR) secured is only used for admissions via Central Counseling Board to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/SFIs/Others, while other ranks are for information purposes.
  • The Institutes that do not participate in JoSAA Counselling or CSAB will use the JEE Score and will come up with their ranks based on their selection criteria.All the participating institutes do not select candidates on the basis of centralised Seat Allocation Process. Some institutes accept JEE Main Score 2018 for admission but prepare their ranking based on the performance in JEE Main 2018 and other criteria as decided by them.

The unofficial answer key has been released on the same day of the examination, while the official JEE Main answer key will be released on 24 April 2018. With the help of answer key, candidates can calculate their marks to be secured in the entrance test. However, calculating the All India Rank (AIR) is an unsolved mystery for aspirants.

JEE Main Result 2018 for Paper 2 - Check Online

JEE Main Paper 2 Result will be announced by 31 May 2018 and JoSAA counselling will begin after the JEE Main Rank 2018 are announced. The final list of Institutions admitting students (with intake in each discipline and category as per reservation) through JEE Main 2018 will be available in the month of May/June 2018. This list will be declared by the Seat Allocation Board. The candidates who qualify JEE Main Paper 2 will get admission to 5 years undergraduate B.Arch or B.Planning courses at NITs and CFTIs.

JEE Main Rank list for B.Arch. /B. Planning Admission 2018 - Tie Breaking Mechanism

Inter-se merit list for institutions other than IITs will be decided in the following order:

  • By Candidate's JEE Main 2018 Aptitude Test Paper 2 Marks(B. Arch./B. Planning). Candidate obtaining higher marks will be given better rank.
  • By Candidate's JEE Main 2018  Drawing Test Paper 2 Marks(B. Arch./B. Planning). Candidate obtaining higher marks will be given better rank.
  • Resolution by finding the ratio of positive marks and negative marks. Candidate having a higher absolute value of the ratio will be given better rank.
  • If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates will be given the same rank
