• Applications are invited from the interested candidates for undergraduate merit scholarships to study a music degree at University of Queensland, Australia.

University of Queensland Merit Scholarship in Music Reward

The value of each scholarship is up to $6,000 per year.

How the Scholarship amount will be paid?

Normally scholarships will be paid in twice-yearly instalments within a month of the semester 1 and the semester 2 census dates

• Semester 1 census date:          31 March each year
• Semester 2 census date:          31 August each year

Scholarship payments are made via electronic funds transfer direct to your nominated bank account.

University of Queensland Merit Scholarship in Music Application Process

Candidates have to apply Online and fill in application form under the Academic Scholarship Program. Apply Online

Step 1: Online Application Form

• Candidates need to complete and submit ONE application form to be considered for the three different types of Academic Scholarships on offer.
• Before applying you will need to apply to QTAC to receive your reference number. Your QTAC number is the reference number which you receive after you have lodged your QTAC application online
• Candidates will jave to answer ALL questions on the Online Application Form
• Once you have completed the form, click the SUBMIT link.

Acknowledgement: Once you have submitted the online form, you should receive an email from the UQ Scholarships Office to confirm that your Online Application Form has been received. 

Step 2: Hard Copy Supporting Documentation/Evidence

Once you have submitted your online form and received your confirmation email, the following documentation will need to be forwarded to the University to be received no later than 5pm October 31, 2015

• Copy of Confirmation Email
• Personal Statement of 300 words or less which briefly describes:
  • your study and career aspirations.
  • if applicable, how your financial circumstances or living and studying in a geographically isolated location has impacted upon your academic, leadership and/or community service achievements in Class 11 and 12
• Evidence of achievements 
• Evidence of financial hardship

Step 3: Submit Hard Copy Supporting Documentation/Evidence

University of Queensland Merit Scholarship in Music Selection Process

• Scholarships will be awarded with consideration to a range of factors including but not necessarily limited to academic achievement, demonstrated leadership and/or community service achievements, financial need, program preferences and secondary school attended.
• Scholarship recipients will be determined by a panel of senior UQ staff and selection is completely at the University’s discretion.
