About Kalakriti Fellowship

  • Kalakriti Fellowship is offered by the Sanskriti Foundation every year in Performing Arts to young performing artists who wish to contribute towards enriching their respective art form.
  • Sanskriti Foundation invites applications preferably from females who have at least ten years of initial training in Indian classical dance
  • Objective: The objective of the fellowship is to encourage young artists to develop their potential and enhance their skills through intensive practice and or incorporating different facets of their art.
  • Duration: The duration of the scholarship will be ten months.
  • Candidate will have to sign an agreement with Sanskriti Pratishthan pertaining to a regular flow of work during the Fellowship period.
  • Deadline: Applications are accepted round the year

Gender Both: Females will be preferred
Region All India 
Class/ Age Age Group: 25 to 40 years
Details
  • Nationality: Females of Indian Nationalities are eligible to participate
  • Age: 25 to 40 years
  • The candidate should have at least ten years of initial training in Indian classical dance.
  • The candidate should not be holding another scholarship/fellowship or working on any other project at the same time. 
  • The candidate would be required to have given at least 2 ­3 solo performances to their credit in recognized forums.

The scholarship of Rs. 50,000 will be given in two phases

  • Phase 1: The first installment will be paid at the commencement of the Fellowship and a short mid-term progress report will be required. 
  • Phase 2:  The second installment will be released after the submission of the complete project report when the fellow may be requested to give a dance recital.

Things to be followed later

  • The candidate will be required to take guidance from another senior guru and enhance the existing style.
  • It would be a residency programme for a period of three months, which can be spread over the period of ten months.
  • This will require the candidate to take consent from her current guru and the guru he/she would want to go to.

  • Interested Candidates should send a two page CV. 
  • The names and contact addresses/telephones of two referees should also be sent.
  • Candidates also have to submit a write up of approximately 500 words explaining their project.
  • Few samples of previous work, project or performances should be submitted.
