About International French Language Olympiad

International French Language Olympiad - IFLO is organised annually by Silver Zone Foundation in association with French Language Teacher’s Association. Students from class 6 to 10 can participate in International French Language Olympiad - IFLO. School plays an important role in IFLO as the registration will be through schools only and the written examination will be conducted in the school itself. This page provides the information about the International French Language Olympiad which comprises the eligibility criteria, application process, rewards etc.

The schools can choose the date on which they will conduct the examination out of 19 December 2017 and 24 January 2017 and the last date for registration is 30 September 2017. Olympiad examinations from Silver Zone are conducted in schools across 14 countries, and more than 9000 schools from India and Abroad are registered with SilverZone.

International French Language Olympiad Reward

The Awards and prizes will be sent to the school within 3-4 weeks after the Result is declared on our Website. Based on the result of Olympiad Examination, the candidates scoring top ranks in each level of examination will be awarded the following prizes:

Prizes for the International French Language Olympiad

  • The First rank holders in the Olympiad examination from each class will be awarded the cash prize of Rs.10,000 along with a Winner’s Trophy.
  • The candidates scoring Second Rank in the Olympiad examination from each class will get a Tab and a Winner’s Trophy.
  • The Third rank holders in the Olympiad Examination from each class will be awarded a Digital Camera and Winner’s Trophy.
  • Top 4-10 rank scorers from each class will be awarded a wrist watch.
  • Exciting Gifts will be given to candidates scoring rank between top 11-25 ranks.
  • Candidates having their rank among top 26-200 will be awarded Certificate of Achievement.
  • Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be given to Class Toppers (1st 2nd and 3rd) from each class of every school provided that they obtain minimum 50% marks in the Olympiad examination.
  • Certificate of Participation will be given to all candidates participating in the Olympiad examination, the certificate will have their Class/State/Olympiad/Rank and Marks.

International French Language Olympiad Application form and Process

The registration of the students will be done by their respective schools, and the level 1 and 2 of the examination will be conducted in the school. The registration process will start from the 1 April 2017. The last date to apply for the iFLO is 30 September 2017. The candidates are advised to apply on or before the due date.

The applications will be made offline and need to be done by the schools. Individual applications will not be entertained for iFLO 18. There are two dates decided for the exam which is 19 December 2017 and 24 January 2018. The schools are required to select the date of exam according to their suitability.

Important Points Related to iFLO 18 Application Form  

  • The candidates have to pay the participation fee in order to participate in the iFLO 18. The payment will be done either by Demand Draft or by account transfer. 
  • The International French Language Olympiad Examination will be conducted at three different levels and the top scorers from each level will advance to the next level.
  • Any one of the following mentioned methods can be adopted by the schools in order to make the payment for the examination.
  • The payment related information is given below. The candidates are required to check the details of paying the application fee.

Participation Fee for International French Language Olympiad 2017-18

From the participation fee, the candidates have to make the payment of the participation fee through DD charges and photocopying, etc. The cost of study material is not included in the fee.

International French Language Olympiad Selection Process

The examination of iFLO 2017-18 will be conducted for students of Class 6-10, the details related to the exam pattern and syllabuses are as follow:

Exam pattern: The following exam pattern will be followed in International French Language Olympiad – IFLO 2017-18:

  • Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Number of questions: 40
  • Negative Marking: No
  • Type of Questions: Multiple choice answers.
