About Dhai Akhar Post Letter Writing Competition

India Post Letter Writing Competition is now begun for the year 2019. The title of this year's writing competition is "Dhai Akhar" decided by Manoj Sinha who is Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communication. India Post Letter Writing Competition 2019 is open for all age groups. The letter can be written in English/ Hindi/ Local Language. Interested candidates have to post their entries in the specially designated letterboxes by 30 November 2019. There are two categories for Letter Writing Competition such as:

  • Inland Letter Card Category in 500 words
  • Envelope category in 1000 words

Only handwritten letters will be accepted.

Theme of Letter: "Dear Bapu, you are immortal”.

Best of three in a circle in each category will be shortlisted and will be sent to the Directorate, Out of these, best 3 letters will be chosen in each of the categories and these letters will be sent to Sabarmati Ashram by special messenger.

Dhai Akhar Post Letter Writing Competition Eligibility Criteria

Class/ Age Open for all age groups
  • There are two types of category for this writing competition such as:
    • Inland Letter Card in 500 words
    • Envelope category in 1000 words
  • The Letter can be written on plain A-4 size paper and will not be more than 1000 words or in an Inland Letter Card (ILC) where it will not be more than 500 words.
  • The embossed envelope and the Inland Letter Card (ILC) will be the permitted stationery.
  • Proof of Age: The participants have to give a certificate of proof of their age on the letter such as "I certify that I am Below/above the age of 18 as on 01/01/2019". In case of winning letters, the age and other ID certificates will be verified by the Circle before sending the three best letters in each category to the Directorate

Dhai Akhar Post Letter Writing Competition Reward

The All India Best Writers in each category will be given an honorary title of “Patron of Post”. The prize-winning letters will be published in important newspapers. The award will be as follows:-

Prize in Each Category Amount (in Rupees)
First Prize Rs. 50,000 (Patron of Post)
Second Prize Rs. 25,000 (Companion of Post)
Third Prize Rs. 10,000 (Post Pal)

 

The State level prize winners will be as follows

Second Prize Rs. 10,000
Third Prize Rs. 5,000

 

Selection Process

Top three letters in each category will be shortlisted by every Circle and the prize will be awarded to these three entries at circle level. The selected letters at Circle level will be sent to the Directorate for further evaluation in each category at the National Level.

Dhai Akhar Post Letter Writing Competition Application form and Process

The letter can be written on plain A4 size paper with a word limit of not more than 1000 words under envelope category or 500 words for Inland letter card (ILC) category.

Only handwritten letters will be accepted
