Scholarships awarded to Meritorious Wards of Police Personnel

Jammu and Kashmir Police awarded scholarships to meritorious wards of Police Personnel. The scholarships were sanctioned in favour of 63 school going police wards. The scholarships amounted to over Rs. 1.51 Lakhs. These scholarships were awarded to students who scored 75 percent or more marks in class 8 and 9 examinations.

These scholarships have been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare fund basically to motivate these children. The police organisation has also taken other measures to serve the police personnel and their families. These efforts are to provide better educational facilities to the children and other facilities to the families of police personnel as the police personnel live away from their families and their families do not get the required care. The Directorate General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra further added that these children should be motivated so that they take up competitive examinations to pursue a better career.
