NCERT Syllabus 2019 for Class 1 to 12 to be reduced by 50%
NCERT Syllabus to be reduced by 50% for Class 1 to 12 as per the new implementation. A good news for all the school students as from 2019 they would have more time to focus and develop their skills apart from academic skills. HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar asked NCERT to reduce the syllabus by half and it would be effective from the 2019 academic session. He also compared the NCERT syllabus with graduation level syllabus which was a point to be concerned about.
However, the bill in this regard will be considered in Parliament in the next part of the Budget Session. The decision has been taken after understanding that as long as the tension of completing the syllabus will with be teachers, they would never be able to shift their attention to learning outcomes.

What would be the impact of reducing NCERT Syllabus?
HRD Minister Javadekar concerned about the poor quality of teacher which eventually affecting the education quality. Under Right to Education Act, 20 lakh teachers were to be trained by 2015 however only 5 lakh teachers took advantage of it. Rests of them were undergoing a skill up gradation program. This will definitely boost up the education in the classroom which is must at this point for better future of students and country.
“Without examination, there is no competition and no target. There must be an element of competition for better outcomes,” HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said. “If a student fails in March, he would get another chance in May. If the student flunks both the times, then only he/she would be detained,” he added.

- According to the new implementation, the NCERT Syllabus has reduced by 50% for Class 1 to 12.

NCERT to introduced new Learning Outcomes for Class 9 to 12
Students of Class 9 to 12 will soon be assessed under new learning outcomes being drafted by the NCERT. According to the officials, the council has started working on the draft, guidelines have been set up to put in place, it will start implementing soon.
