JEE Advanced 2019 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee. According to the officials of IIT Roorkee, continuous discussions are going on regarding the conduct of JEE Advanced 2019. As per few media reports, in a meeting with Joint Admission Board (JAB), it has been decided that IIT Roorkee will conduct JEE Advanced 2019. This year, IIT Roorkee will conduct JEE Advanced in May 2019 in computer-based mode. However, no official detailed information regarding the conduct of the test has been released yet. Only top 2,24,000 aspirants who will qualify in JEE Main 2019 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Last year, a total of 3,12,587 candidates appeared for JEE Advanced paper 1 and 2. JEE Advanced 2019 by IIT Roorkee will be the basis for admission to 23 IITs, IISER, RGIPT and IISc.

JEE Advanced 2019 Conducting IIT Revealed

As mentioned earlier, IIT Roorkee will conduct JEE Advanced in online mode. However, the official notification will be released later. Every year the conducting body of JEE Advanced changes. The exam is conducted on a rotating basis by one of the seven zonal IITs that is IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati. Last year JEE Advanced was conducted by IIT Kanpur. Every year the students are curious to know which IIT is conducting the IIT JEE but in reality, it does not matter as the exam is set by a panel of experts and the major responsibility is of the conducting body. The online  JEE Advanced registration is expected to begin in May 2019, after the announcement of JEE Main result. As JEE Main will be conducted twice a year – January and April, thus it is expected that candidates registering for JEE Advanced 2019 will be higher than the previous year.

JEE Advanced 2019 Exam

JEE Advanced is conducted in two sessions – Paper 1 (from 09:00 am to 12:00 noon) and Paper 2 (from 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm). It is important for candidates to appear and qualify in both the papers. Both the JEE Advanced papers are divided into 3 sections. A total of 54 questions will be asked in JEE Advanced 2019 from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. Both paper 1 and 2 will be of 180 marks, thus, the total marks of JEE Advanced 2019 will be 360.

About JEE Main and JEE Advanced

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance examination conducted for admission to various B.Tech colleges across India. Every year, around 10-12 lakh candidates appear for JEE Main for admission to 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and CFTIs. JEE Main online registration 2019 will begin from 1 to 30 September 2018. This year, National Testing Agency has been formed to conduct JEE (Main).

From the qualified candidates of JEE Main, around 2,24,000 candidates will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2019. In the year 2018, a total of 3,12,587 aspirants took the computer-based JEE Advanced entrance exam. Of which only 18,138 candidates successfully qualified the JEE (Advanced).
