JNU Entrance Exam Syllabus 2018 - JNU offers the undergraduate as well as the postgraduate programmes based on JNU Entrance Exams. To qualify the entrance exam, the candidates should go through the exam pattern and the syllabus so that they would be able to score more. JNU Entrance Exam Syllabus 2018 for BA Foreign Language Course

JNU offers admission to Bachelor of Arts Degree Courses. Separate entrance exams are conducted for the BA (Hons) 1st Year and 2nd Year course. The entrance exam for the BA (Hons) 1st year admissions would be conducted in the English Language while the candidates seeking admission into the 2nd year must know the language in which they are seeking admission further. The following foreign languages are included in BA programme:

JNU Entrance Exam Syllabus 2018 for BA Foreign Language 1st Year

JNU BA Foreign Language Entrance Exam for the 1st year would be held in both Subjective and Objective mode. The entrance exam would be conducted in the English Language. There is a common entrance test for this programme which will be conducted in the different languages. i.e. Persian, Pushto, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, German, French, Spanish & Russian.

Questions based on the following topics would be covered in the syllabus.

JNU Entrance Exam Syllabus 2018 for BA Foreign Language 2nd Year - Part I & II

The syllabus mentioned below is divided into two parts. The first one shows the JNU BA 2nd year Syllabus for Persian, Pushto, Arabic and Japanese language. While the Second part holds the syllabus for the Korean, Chinese, French, Russian, German and Spanish Language. The BA Foreign Language 2nd Year Entrance Exam would be subjective type.

  • Kinds verbs, Verb conjugation Formation of Sentences, Translation of small sentences from Persian into English and vice-versa
  • Indo-Iran Relations & Composition in the Persian language on general topics

Literature:

  • Introduction of Literary Personalities: Firdowsi, Saadi Shirazi, Hafiz Shirazi, Amir Khusraw, Rumi,
  • History of Persian language Geo-Political regions of the language
  • Iran culture and Civilization

Pushto – PUSS (310)

The questions on the following topics will be asked in the entrance exam. The candidates are suggested to go through the given topics below:

  • on the day to day matters.
  • Listening and comprehension of elementary Japanese

Writing Skills

  • Approximately 350 Kanji
  • Construction of Japanese sentences using all the basic
  • grammatical patterns verb forms and usage of adjectives,
  • construction of sentences (passive, causative etc.)
  • inflexion of adjectives, use of adverbs introduced at the Basic level.

Reading Skills

  • Reading and Comprehension.
  • Texts with the vocabulary of Basic and the Intermediate level.
  • The candidate should be able to read and answer question-based on the text.

Society and Culture

  • Knowledge of socio-cultural and historical aspects of Japan
  • Festivals and cultural understanding of Japan.

  • The language competence of the candidate in grammar, written comprehension & expression will be evaluated.
  • Questions focused on grammar exercises such as past tense, commands, object pronouns, subjective etc. along with a letter and essay writing would be used to evaluate the level of the candidate.
  • The written examination will carry a weightage of 80% while the oral has 20% weightage.
  • For admission into some of the courses, the viva voce for the candidates’ who have qualified written examination will be conducted.
