JEE Advanced Result 2018 has been declared by IIT Kanpur on 10 June 2018. Extended List of JEE Advanced qualified candidates has been released. A link is provided on this page. The candidates who appeared in the exam can check JEE Advanced Result 2018 by following the link given towards the end of this page. IIT Kanpur has released the result, final answer key and also the minimum marks for inclusion in the rank list. The result includes the All India Rank (AIR) as well as category wise All India Rank. JEE Advanced result 2018 is used for admission in IITs and various other institutes. JEE Advanced 2018 is a computer-based test that was conducted on 20 May 2018 at many centres throughout India. The candidates who have appeared in both JEE Advanced Paper 1 and Paper have been allotted JEE Advanced rank. This page gives the details about the JEE Advanced Result 2018, rank list, minimum marks required for inclusion in JEE Advanced Rank List, Institutes accepting admission based on JEE Advanced result 2018. 

  • A total of 11,279 seats are on offer this year for IIT Admission. 18, 138 have qualified JEE Advanced this time, which is 1.6 times the number of total seats.

Note: IITs offer B.Arch course in IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur and admission is based on Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). Registration for Architecture aptitude test to start on 10 June 2018 immediately after the result of JEE Advanced has been declared.

JEE Advanced Result for the entrance exam has been released on 10 June 2018. The result is declared only for those candidates who have appeared in the JEE Advanced Paper 1 and 2.Candidates can check their All India Ranks (AIR) / Category Ranks through JEE (Advanced) 2018 websites. The candidates can check the result now. To check the JEE Advance Rank, the candidates have to follow the below instructions.

JEE Advanced Rank Card 2018

Individual JEE Advanced rank cards of the candidates have not be sent to the candidates by email. The candidates will have to log in to download the JEE advanced rank card. 

JEE Advanced Rank Card has the following details

The candidates who do not qualify are not awarded any rank. Their rank card have this line "We regret to inform you that you have not qualified in any rank list in JEE (Advanced) 2018"

JEE Advanced Rank Card is primarily used for admission in 23 IITs that is Bhubaneswar, Bhilai, Bombay, New Delhi, Dhanbad, Dharwad, Gandhinagar, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Jammu and Kashmir, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati and Varanasi.

JEE Advanced Rank Lists 2018 

JEE Advanced 2018 Rank List is prepared only for those candidates who have appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Only these candidates are considered for ranking.

  • The aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in JEE Advanced 2018 is the sum of the marks awarded to him/her in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Merit lists are prepared based on the aggregate marks in JEE Advanced 2018.
  • There is no waiting list for ranking.

JEE Advanced Rank List is prepared based on the marks obtained in both paper 1 and Paper 2.

  • Total marks in Physics = Marks in Physics in Paper 1 + Marks in Physics in Paper 2
  • Total marks in Chemistry = Marks in Chemistry in Paper 1 + Marks in Chemistry in Paper 2
  • Total marks in Maths =  Marks in Mathematics in Paper 1 + Marks in Mathematics in Paper\

JEE Advanced Rank List: Inter Se Merit List

In case two or more candidates secure the same marks in JEE Advanced Paper 1 and Paper 2 then the following rules will be applied for finalising on the Inter se merit list.

  • Candidates having higher positive marks are awarded higher rank.
  • A higher JEE Advanced rank is assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics. If this does not break the tie
  • A higher rank is assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics.
  • If there is a tie even after this, the candidates are assigned the same rank.

Supernumerary seats for Girls in IITs - 
The supernumerary seats have been created for female candidates for admission in 2018-19 academic session. This has been done to improve the gender balance in IITs and this move will increase the females from 4% to 8% in the academic session 2018-19. Supernumerary seats are created over and above the overall seats and will not affect the seats for non-female candidates. A total of 800 supernumerary seats have been created for female candidates.

Qualifying Exam Criteria for admission in IITs

The students have to satisfy one out of the two conditions given below for admission in IITs

  1. Must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 or equivalent examination. The minimum required marks for SC, ST, PWD category is 65% marks in Class 12
  2. Must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in their respective Class 12 (or equivalent) board examination.

For Top 20 percentile calculation, the marks secured in following subjects will be included

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • A language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the
    the language with the higher marks will be considered)
  • Any subject other than the above four (the subject with the highest marks
    will be considered).

JEE Advanced Result Revaluation

The candidates cannot ask for revaluation or recheck of JEE Advanced result. This year the exam was conducted in computer-based mode and IIT Kanpur which is the conducting body of JEE Advanced released the question paper and answer key for the exam. The students were given the facility to challenge the answer key.

JoSAA Counselling After JEE Advanced Result

After the JEE Advanced Result gets declared, the students will be allotted seats based on the Josaa Counselling. Josaa is the online counselling for allotment of seats for admission in NITs, IITs, GFTIs etc. The Registration for counselling will start from 15 June.
