About BHU BSc Nursing Admission

BHU BSc Nursing Admission 2019 will be conducted by the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University. The admission to BSc Nursing course is done on the basis of All India Written BSc Nursing entrance examination. BSc Nursing at Banaras Hind University(BHU) is a 4 year Course that includes the internship. BHU BSc Nursing Admission Seats Distribution

The total number of seats offered by the College of Nursing, Institute of Medical
Sciences, BHU, Varanasi is 60. The seat distribution for each category is given in the table below.

NOTE: Candidates are informed that the seats in BHU BSc Nursing Admission are decreased from 100 seats to 60 seats.

BHU BSc Nursing Admission Eligibility criteria

Age: The candidates should be 17 to 25 years of age as on 31 December 2019.

Nationality: The candidates should be Indian National to be eligible to apply for BHU BSc Nursing.

Academic Qualifications:

  • The candidates seeking admission in the BHU BSc Nursing course must have passed Intermediate/ 10+2 or equivalent with the subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English from a recognised university.
  •  They must have minimum 50% aggregate marks required for all the subjects (PCBE) for the General Category and 40% for the OBC Non-creamy layer/ SC/ ST, 45% for PC in General category
  • The candidates appearing/ appeared in Intermediate/Class 12 or equivalent exam can also apply for the admission. However, the original mark sheet of the same will be required at the time of counselling.
  • However, the candidates appearing/ appeared in the intermediate exam will be required to submit the original mark sheet intermediate or equivalent exam at the time of the counselling. Otherwise, their application for the admission will not be considered.

BHU BSc Nursing Admission Application form and Admit Card

The application process for the admission in BHU BSc Nursing has started from 12 March 2019 and the candidates can fill the BHU BSc Nursing online application form by following the link given below. The application form will be filed only through online mode. There is no other method or procedure to fill the application form.

The candidates should apply for the BHU BSc Nursing admission on or before 10 April 2019. The candidates are also advised to read the complete information brochure and ensure their eligibility criteria before filling the application form.

Steps to fill the BHU BSc Nursing Application Form

The admission to BHU BSc Nursing will be done on the basis of All India written entrance examination. Therefore, the steps to fill the application form is given and the candidates are suggested to follow the steps to complete the application form filling.

STEP 1- Registration

  • The first step to fill the BHU BSc Nursing application form is to register yourself by following the given link and fill the required details to complete the registration process.
  • After successful completion of the registration process, the candidates will receive the confirmation link to their registered email. The candidates need to click on the link to activate their account.

STEP 2 - Fill the Application Form

  • Once the candidates click on the link received in their email account, they will be redirected to fill the application form. In which they have to fill the application form by providing the required details in every section of the form.
  • The candidates need to upload the photograph and have to fill the information related to the following:
    • Personal Details
    • Correspondence Details
    • Qualifying Examination
    • Upload Photo and Signature (instructions to upload the photograph is given towards the end of the page)
    • Aadhar Number is mandatory for filling the application form, however, candidates do not have Aadhar number can submit passport number, voter id, PAN card or any other government recognised id proof.

STEP 3- Payment and Submission

  • At last the candidates need to verify the details filled by them in the application form and submit it. After submission, the candidates will receive a provisional id which they need to keep for the future reference.
  • The candidates then need to make the payment of the application fee either through online mode or offline mode. The payment of the application fee should only be made once.

Submission of Application Form

Candidates are advised to check the details of the application form before clicking on the submit button as the candidates need to know that once the application gets submitted, the candidates will not be able to make changes in the details filled by them in the application form. 

The application form should be filled on or before 18 May 2019 till 11:59 PM and should be submitted so. Otherwise, the application can be rejected by the university. The candidates are advised to keep at least two printouts of the application form with them for future reference. 

BHU BSc Nursing Admit Card 2019

BHU BSc Nursing admit card will be available on the official website only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date. However, the provisional admit card will be generated and sent to the email id of the candidate. 

Candidates are advised to check the details like name of the students, exam centre, exam dates etc. on the printed admit card. The admit card is an important document to be carried at the exam centre. The admit card will be available from 30 May 2019 onwards.

If the candidate does not receive the admit card then he/she must contact the office of the Director Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM

BHU BSc Nursing Admission Fees

BHU BSc Nursing application fee is different for all the categories. The candidates belonging to the respective categories must pay their application fee accordingly. The Application fee once paid by the candidates is non-refundable. The candidates can also check the Annual Course Fee structure 2019 on this page below.

BHU BSc Nursing Admission Result and Counselling

BHU BSc Nursing Entrance Test Result will be released by the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on their website. The dates for the release of the BHU BSc Nursing Entrance Test result has not been announced by the university yet.

Once the result gets announced, the university will prepare the BHU  BSc Nursing merit list accordingly based on the result and the candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the Written Entrance Test conducted for the purpose. The decision of the admission committee shall be final and binding on the candidate in respect of the Entrance Test and admission to the above course.

  • Number of Questions: 100 MCQs
  • Maximum Marks: 400
  • Duration of Exam: 2 hours
  • Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Language of Question Paper: Hindi and English

The number of questions and the number of marks for each question is given in the table below. The candidates can check the table below. To pass the entrance exam the students have to secure a minimum of 50% for general category and 40% for OBC, SC, ST and PC

What if two candidates obtain equal marks in the BHU BSC Nursing Entrance Test?

If the two or more candidates obtained equal marks in the entrance exam of BHU BSc Nursing, then their inter merit will be decided according to the following:

  1. Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Zoology section of entrance test 2019
  2. Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Botany section of entrance test 2019
  3. Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Chemistry section of entrance test 2019.
  4. Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Physics section of entrance test 2019
  5. If all of the above happen to be same, the candidate senior in age will rank higher
BHU BSc Nursing Admission Important details

Instructions to upload photographs

  • The candidates need to upload the high contrast passport size scanned photograph.
  • The photograph must be snapped on or after 1 February 2019 with a placard indicating the name of the candidate on the date of taking a photograph.
  • ln case the name and date are written on the photograph after taking it, the application will be rejected.
  • The candidates are advised to keep a few identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of Entrance Test/admission.

BHU BSc Nursing Admission - Important Points

  • All candidates appearing for the BHU BSc Nursing Entrance Exam will be required to bring the original printout of the admit card, failing to comply with the given instruction would amount to the candidates not entertained to sit for the exam.
  • All the candidates are required to reach the venue well in advance. It is necessary to report half an hour before the commencement of the exam.
  • No candidate would be allowed to carry mobile phones, calculator, digital watch or any gadget inside the examination hall.
  • Candidates who are less than 18 years of age would be required to submit permission of their Father/ Guardian to join the course.
  • Candidates would be required to submit NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from the Employer at the time of admission.
