The NTA introduced JEE Main 2019 changes and that has been highlighted in the article. The JEE Main 2019 will be a beginning of a new era in engineering entrance examination. There are a few but major JEE Main changes that have been brought up by NTA in 2019 examination.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to conduct the JEE Main 2019 exam for the first time for 2019-20 admission. Until 2018, JEE Main exam was earlier conducted by CBSE but after the formation of NTA, the responsibility of conducting the JEE Main along with CMAT, GPAT, NEET and UGC NET has been passed on from CBSE to NTA. MHRD approved NTA in November 2017 as an autonomous body to conduct entrance exams for higher educational examinations. NTA will focus on research and scientific test design with the help of experts, researchers, statisticians, psychometricians, test item writers and education specialists.

JEE Main 2019 Changes

For the benefit of candidates, NTA introduced major changes in JEE Main 2019. Let us have a deeper look at all such changes from the points given below. Candidates who are preparing for JEE Main 2019 should look at these changes so that they do not miss on anything important.

JEE Main 2019 Change Number 1: Completely Online Computer Based Test

JEE Main 2019 is going to be conducted through the Online Computer Based Test only. This is a very big change. Last year, only 1.65 lakhs gave the JEE Main 2018 in Computer Based Test format out of the total 11.34 lakhs students. The above stats clearly show that the students preferred a Pen and Paper Based format more than the Computer Based Test format. As the exam will be computer-based, hence students will be able to review and revisit a question. NTA to provide more than 3000 test practice centres for JEE Main 2019 for students living in rural areas so that they can practice before the exam. The practice centres will be kept open on Saturday/Sunday starting from the third week of August 2018 and would be accessible to all the students free of charge.

JEE Main 2019 Change 2:  It will be conducted twice a year

Another major change brought by the NTA is that the JEE Main 2019 to be held twice by NTA in computer-based mode. The exams will be conducted in a total of 8 Sittings on Saturdays and Sundays in January and April 2019. The students will get a chance to give both of the exams and the best score out of the two will be chosen for the calculation of the rank of the student.

JEE Main 2019 Change 3:  It will have Multiple exam dates

This year, there is a great change regarding JEE Main important dates 2019. Earlier, the test was held on a single day and if a student could not give the exam on the given date then he/she would have to wait for one whole year to give the exam. Now, the students will be able to give exam on the date of their choice and no time will be wasted in waiting for the JEE Main exam.

JEE Main 2019 Change 4: Questions to be asked by Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The questions in JEE Main 2019 exam will be set by an Artificial Intelligence. The set of questions asked from a student will differ from student to student. A set of random questions will be asked to the student and each question will depend upon the performance of the student in the previous questions.

NTA has brought some great changes to the way JEE Main 2019 Exam will be conducted. These changes are futuristic and will help students in coping with the changing times. Let’s hope that these changes will be accepted by students with a good attitude.
